Whats your Ethnicity?

50% German, 50% Irish

According to my second name I'm an ancestor of the Spanish Armada of which a ship stranded on the coast of Donegal on it's retreat after being beaten.

Anyway, so I'm genetically engineered to consume alcohol. Great!

I'm Scottish. As far as I know, some of our ancestors came from Central Scotland and some from the Highlands.

I'm another one of the 'born to drink' category.

I'm 50% pure Russian (and not those German-Russians that Germany is filled with these days...you know, the Germans that were invited to come to Russia somewhere in 1700 something by Katherine the great, lived in German communities until the Soviet Union kicked in and who com back now...and many of them are een born in Kazachstan or whatever...seriously, I don't think they're Russian at all, for most of the time they had their own German culture, plus their ancestors are all German. Well, what I meant to say with this, I'm not one of those, my Mom's side of the family is really Russian Russian....and as you can see I feel very strongly about this topic), and on the other side I'm technically 50% German, but I think there's some Polish involved somewhere. Other than that I don't know, nothing else was ever mentioned.

Russian huh? I went out briefly with a Russian girl who was living temporarily in the UK - man she was a stunner!
I'm afraid to post because sco will give me more negative karma!

Anyway, I'm all Finnish. My family from my mother's side is from Karelia, which is a part of Russia now. They had to pretty much start over when all the Finns were forced to leave Karelia.

Don´t worry. If sco give you neg rep I´ll give you positive. Ant those add more points than neg rep takes away so you´ll "win" if he starts. But of course I might miss a post or two...
I'm 100% Dutch, but on my mum's side of the family there's some interesting things going on, they were probably portuguese Jews who moved to France around 1600 or so, converted to protestantism (huguenots) and than fled to Holland in the 18th century. You can see it in the names. They're all called Isaak and Samuel and Sara. Just like me (Well, only Sara). We actually found in some register somewhere in France that there were loads of huguenots there with the last name of Figuee. Which is also my great grandmothers maiden name. It's a nice story, right But not really all that interesting.

Geneology is always interesting.
Born and raised in Western Australia. Typical sandgroper here 😛
As far as I know (on my dads side) somewhere along the line, like my great great great grandad or something is Scottish. I have no idea about my mums family. Im pretty sure its been quite a few generations since someone has been from overseas.

110% English.

Oh and I hear soon we'll be having to use passports to get into Scotland and a Queen's pardon to get back out! How'd that happen?? 😉

Okay, people don't always believe me because I don't look like it (if you saw my photographs you'll probably agree with those people), but I'm South American: my father is from Chile and my mother from Colombia. Not really mixed.

Nice combo by the sounds of it - never met anyone from either place - glad you told us!
My mother comes from an Irish/Native American background, Pop's is all German. Those are the majorities fessed up to anyway...I'm sure we have others in there as well.

DO'H!

Since posting my original reply in this thread I went and spoke to my parents and apparently there's Norwegian blood in my immediate family on my Mother's side. My Father's not aware of any mixtures on his side of the family.

So.... I guess that makes me 1/3 or something Norwegian and the rest English or am I wrong?

My mums side are all Irish and my dads side and all Scottish highland people that lived in houses made of stones lol Ive got a picture somewhere hehe

So 50% Scottish and 50% Irish and am pretty sure theres some Italian in there from my mums side.

I'm of mixed origins: more_Russian-less_Kalmyk on Dad's side (he's of Cossack's origin), Russian-Georgian-Kazakh-Ukrainian on Mom's side, as far as I'm aware of...

From what I understand, most of my people came to the States in the 1840s. German, Swedish, Norwegian, Irish, French, Czech...

My mom is Puerto Rican, so that's to say Spanish + the natives of the islands. On my dad's side it's anyone's guess. French Huguenot is somewhere back there, probably some German and English, too. Heinz 57, that's us!

I consider myself an "almost Texan." I have ancestors hanged as horsethieves out there. That counts, doesn't it?
