Oddly enough, there's no thread about this in this sub-forum. Maybe it's already buried at the cemetery or something.
So, what's your favorite Firefly episode?

I have to say I like every single episode. Some more, some less. Bushwhacked and Out of Gas are some of my absolute favorites, but I think I have to pick Ariel. It's just brilliant, and quite possibly in the top three of my favorite TV episodes ever.

Why did you like it? That's not even one of my top 5 Firefly eps.
'Out of Gas' In the VH dorm recently, I was asked to list my top Whedonverse episodes and this one didn't make the lsit. Because my useless brain had someohow forgotten how astounding this episode is. From a storytelling standpoint, an artistic standpoint and acharacter standpoint this is a tour de force episode in television, not just Whedonism.

Out of Gas. It was different, compelling, suspenseful, edge-of-the seat, with the highest stakes and the lowest probability of a good outcome of any of the shows. Plus I love me some heroic Mal.

ALL the episodes! But I think I'm going to go with Shindig. It's funny, it's got some great Kaylee moments, and some great Mal/Inara moments, and I just genuinely enjoy every single minute of it.

Our Mrs. Reynolds might be a close second!
 
Out Of Gas, without question. Up until then, Firefly had only mildly kept my interest. I saw "Out Of Gas" and a Browncoat was born. 🙂

Because I love the heist plot. I'm a big heist movie fan and love movies like Heat, Reservoir Dogs and Jackie Brown.
I also think that Jayne's attempt to sell out River and Simon creates very interesting conflicts and affects the following episodes in a great way.
 
Up until recently, my favorite was "Our Mrs. Reynolds"... However, after having seen the series a few times now, I have come to love "Trash" the best. It still features my beloved Saffron, but I like the plot of this one a lot more and especially the scene at the dumpster. 😉
 
I've voted for Serenity. Loved the pilot from the beginning.

Out of Gas was definitely an episode that stood out though.
