I said new but they dont have to be literally new. It could be a newly discovered band or someone you burly started to listen to.

To me it has to be Frank Ocean. He has such a beautiful voice! Also, Bruce Sprigsteen (yes I know!) lol I've recently really gotten into him.

After that all of the friends whom I always "steal" music from started talking about James Blake, I checked out his album and I really like it!

I've recently started listening to Janis Ian. She's not usually my sort of music but i heard her song "at seventeen" and kinda got hooked on her.
 
Well for me it's gotta be Wye Oak. An awesome indie-duo from Baltimore, and the lead singer got one of the best voices I've ever heard. She's just amazing.

I've also discovered Blue à–yster Cult by listening to the Supernatural soundtrack. Like them 🙂
 
My favorite new discovery from the past year or so has been Eleanor Friedberger:

I bought the Maroon 5 Hands All Over Me album earlier in the year and have really got into that but I've listened to it loads in the car now so I'm on the lookout for something new, suggestions welcomed...

she's a brilliant musician, she writes all of her music too! She just released her debut album "Our Version of Events" in the UK earlier this year in February.
 
As a Nirvana devotee from as far back as I could remember, I never really gave Kurt's wife's band, Hole, more than a second thought until this year. I remember watching Nirvana videos on YouTube, when I saw Hole's "Doll Parts" in the related video section. So I said, why not? Let's see why the entire world hates Courtney Love. And from the beginning guitar chords, I was hooked. I've been obsessed with Hole ever since. 😀

I've also gotten into Wye Oak, The Black Keys, Beach House, and Dinosaur Jr recently. And as Little Miss Muffet had stated, Frank Ocean is amazing. Channel Orange is such a great album. 🙂

Machine Head. I have been a fan of Hard Rock for years and doing a youtube search for covers of Iron Maiden's 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' led me to them. Much heavier than I usually go for, but I love their debut album 'Burn My Eyes', definitely the best album I have bought this year.
