Mine is "the harvest" i think the battle with her and luke was awesome and a great way to make her presence known in sunnydale
 
its always hard for me to pick a Favourite ep from any season but if i had to choose it would be the season finale, prophecy girl. the bit when buffy, angel and xander are walking and the buffy theme plays really made me the buffy fan i am today.
 
For me it's Prophecy Girl because SMG's acting is absolutely incredible! The whole scene after she overhears the prophecy is as good a job as I have ever seen anyone do ever in movie or film and it makes me cry every time without fail. Then she goes and kicks butt...after dying, and all is right with the world. Great stuff!

I would say mine's a tie between puppet show and the pack. But - of course - I love them all!
 
For me it's a toss up between "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "Angel". They're both awesome and I think they both really sum up the first season of Buffy. The story is great, the characters are fantastic, that innocence that was there between Buffy and Angel before Angel lost his soul is so prevalent (call me a romantic, but I absolutely loved that between them), and just from a fun standpoint, the series at that stage is just so 90's.

They're actually both episodes I still re-watch, even if I'm not going through the series. They're both great stand-alone's.

And Welcome to the Hellmouth is a lot of fun because you know they're are 12 awesome seasons to come.
 
Love both those episodes! I rewatch episodes like every week. Random outa order cause ive watch season through n through so many times lol
 
I agree with AlwaysBangel especially "Angel" I love that Angel choose Darla over Buffy that we knew it was the start of something new, the romance is starting to blossom. I remember when Buffy first aired in the UK and I found out Angel is a vampire I was like what!!!!! And thought it was an amazing twist and I liked how we finally got to explore who Angel is. Plus i like how it wasn't buffy who kill the three it was the master it shows how strong he is and is you fail him you would be staked. I can always re-watch this episode 🙂
 
I'm having a hard time remembering some of the episodes but the ones that come to mind are Prophecy Girl and Nightmares. I thought Vampire Buffy in Nightmares was a great idea.
 
I've just got to say The Puppet Show. It is one of the funniest, if not the funniest episode of the whole series!! Snyder's debut is so great! The episode has loads of awesome Snyder lines and the ending is so fricking hilarious!!! An they have a Usual Suspects reference. I just love the episode. It even might be the episode I have watched the most. You could say it's my guilty pleasure episode.

LOVE that bit so much! Makes me seriously pumped for what she's about to do next. It's so awe inspiring!
Honestly I have no idea which is my favourite episode from season 1 though. I really enjoy a lot of them its hard to pick

Man, I forgot about Snyder! Quite possibly the single funniest character in all of Buffy. His run is just pure gold.
 
I know what you mean. The entire series was amazing in my opinion. When I was a little girl I remember wanting to be buffy so I was always dressing up like her and stuff (still buy buffy inspired outfits though)

I also really like The Puppet Show just because it's so funny. It's one of the Season 1 episodes that I don't mind watching over and over.

Welome to the Hellmouth is a very solid series opener in my opinion.

OH! I just remembered The Witch. That is definitely my favorite Season 1 episode. I've just always loved that one for some reason. I also like the continuity in Season 7's Him with the cheerleading uniform. And Amy makes her first appearance.

Despite all that, I do really love the scene in Prophecy Girl when Buffy is yelling and crying at Giles and Angel. It's very touching.

Same. I'm not even sure WHY exactly, but I really love it.

I think I might have a certain soft spot for it just because it was the episode where I decided that I was definitely falling for Giles. How he carried Buffy and laid her down and made her a pillow out of his jacket in "Witch" had already mostly won me over, but this episode clinched it.

Didn't take long, eh? 😀
