whats your favorite season 1 episode?

Same. I'm not even sure WHY exactly, but I really love it.

I think I might have a certain soft spot for it just because it was the episode where I decided that I was definitely falling for Giles. How he carried Buffy and laid her down and made her a pillow out of his jacket in "Witch" had already mostly won me over, but this episode clinched it.

Didn't take long, eh? 😀

I loved when he carried Buffy, I thought that was sweet. I can't think of a single other time he does. I can only remember a few times he touches her at all.

Either 'Out of mind out of sight', or 'The Puppet show'.

I got in contact with the Puppeteer that did the Sid preformance in the latter and he was more than happy to talk about the show. A Cool guy.

I would have to say my favorite season 1 episode is a tie between Puppet Show, which ironically I'm watching right now because I'm waiting for my computer to back up. I also really enjoy I Robot.. You Jane. Then again I really enjoy season 1 overall, but if I had to choose a favorite it would be a tie between those two. I love Snyder in Puppet Show, and in I Robot I just love snarky Giles and snarky Jenny. :]

Well, the Puppet Show was the very first episode of not only BtVS, but also anything Joss Whedon related that I watched, so I like it and get kind of nostalgic when I see it, but my favorite episose would have to be "Prophecy Girl".

I love Angel, it was my favorite because of the Bangel relationship. I enjoyed it even more after watching the Angel series because it shows how much Darla actually meant to Angel. The fact that he kills his sire for Buffy shows how much she means to him and I love that.

I love "Angel". It's like the flagship of Bangel
My fav episodes are 'Angel' and 'The Puppet Show' 🙂
'Angel' because I like their first kiss and 'The Puppet Show' because it's so funny xD

I'll have to go with two:
Nightmares, which did a great job showing the Scoobie's inner fears and challenges. Giles's speech on Buffy's grave is so sad and touching.
Prophecy Girl. Things got really 'real' in that episode, and Buffy discovering the prophecy is one of the heartbreaking and well-acted scenes in the series. And then she still goes and fights. A hero.

Its hard but finally have to go with Welcome to the Hellmouth because that it is where this wonderful show has its beginning.
Have to always follow it by watching The Harvest though, its sequel.

Great episodes!
1.01 Welcome To The Hellmouth SCORE: 5/5
1.02 The Harvest SCORE: 5/5
1.03 The Witch SCORE: 3.5/5
1.04 Teacher's Pet SCORE: 3.5/5
1.05 Never Kill A Boy On The First Date SCORE: 4/5
1.06 The Pack SCORE: 4.5/5
1.07 Angel SCORE: 4/5
1.08 I Robot, You Jane SCORE: 1/5 (I'm being charitable.) It was really awful.
1.09 The Puppet Show SCORE: 5/5
1.10 Nightmares SCORE: 3/5 (For some reason, this one just didn't grow on me until about a dozen viewings.)
1.11 Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight SCORE: 3.5/5
1.12 Prophecy Girl SCORE: 5/5

In all, it was a solid first season for a show. There were a few weak ones, and of them the dreadful "Robot" ep merits a Golden Razzie from this discerning critic. The two-part opener is probably my favourite. One could watch 1x1, 1x2 and 1x12 in quick succession as a 'stand-alone movie' and it would have been perfect.

Well I just watched S1 for the first time and I really can't decide. A few of my favorites though were "Welcome to Hellmouth" just because it is a great intro. "Out of Mind, Out of Sight" because I thought it was really well done, I felt really sorry for the villain because she was easy to relate to and the ending was just kind of creepy. I also liked Witch just for the ending, seeing the witch trapped in the trophy was really kind of creepy. Finally, Prophecy Girl was a great ending to a great season. The acting was great in this episode.
