What's your favorite season 8 arc?

During my first read, Time of Your Life was my favorite. During this re-read, I liked Wolves At The Gate slightly more. I know a lot of people don't like that arc, but I really loved it. Loved the Japanese vamps and Dracula. Renee's death was so emotional, with her monologue, and watching Xander deal with that was moving. I just liked the action and the pace, it felt like watching the series on TV. Maybe I liked it because it had little to do with the Twilight storyline lol.

But Time Of Your Life was amazing too. Love Fray, loved seeing her & Buffy interact and going back to that future world. I just didn't (still don't!) completely understand Willow's story there, so that impacted my enjoyment just a bit.

My least favorite was Predators & Prey.

I chose Time of Your Life. Though I do like Wolves at the Gate a lot too.

But I'm a huge Fray fangirl. From the first time I read her book. In fact, now I think I will have to read it again. Guess it's coming to work with me. 🙂

It was between Wolves at the Gate and Retreat for me, but I picked Wolves at the Gate. Perhaps my reasons are biased, it's a Xander arc, but overall I've enjoyed most of the storylines in it. Xander/Renee, Xander/Dracula, Buffy/Satsu, Japanese vampires... all of them were awesome.

WatG. I hate Dracula, and the romantic/rape-y relationship he and Xander has, but I love Batsu, the drama and the humour of the arc.

No Future for You was the best arc for me. It just hit all its marks perfectly and Faith & Giles were a joy to read.

I'm kind of surprised at the WATG love, I thought I'd be the only one. Not surprised at NFFY and TOYL- I think those 3 are the strongest arcs, and The Long Way Home is in 4th for me. Well, I do like parts of Retreat, but P&P is definitely the weakest IMO!

I voted for Last Gleaming - mainly because #40 was such a great issue and I loved that Spike was back.

I loved the "Long Way Home" and "No Future for You" too. They were both very strong arcs with excellent writing and stories.

I didn't much like "Wolves at the Gate". I didn't like the inclusion of Dracula in the story and MecaDawn was just awful!

I voted for "Wolves At The Gate," because I liked the return of Dracula, and the background about his and Xander's friendship was really good. I would love to see a follow up what happened to Dracula after he left Japan. Did he try and re-invoke the spell that made him a special vampire? Did he turn back into that sad old recluse with pickled cabbage all over his clothes? Did he ever get that motorcycle that started the whole thing?

I would love to see him return in Season 9, but I seriously doubt that it'll ever happen.

I enjoyed "No Future for You", I thought visiting the future was a fun idea for Buffy to do. I also really enjoyed seeing Fray and seeing her interactions with Buffy (although I never read her original comic)

Last Gleaming, mostly because of Spike's return.

But I loved ToYL, NFFY and WatG a lot. Great arcs!
