I'm a downloadaholic. I love freeware, also some demos or shareware (unlimited expiry with a nag). Anyone have any suggestions for stuff I can add to my collection? I'll start you off with my personal favourites.
DBpoweramp: There's tons of aids out there for burning audio CDs. My favourite multi-function freebie for doing everything and having a kickass music CD at the end is this one.

WinMX: Everyone has a favourite File-sharer. I like WinMx. The lineups for files are often long, but it's spyware-free, and the Robber-barons from the RIAA, along with their lawyers and hackers don't seem to bother with it.

Eudora Light 3.0: Outlook Express is snoopy, also vulnerable to viruses and exploits. The new Eudora light comes with adware. Solution: Download an old version of Eudora Light. I use 3.0 with no problems.

Twins Video Player: Windows Media Player is too snoopy, buggy, sucks up memory, and comes with DRM. When DRM and TCPA click into full gear they're going to start deleting files from your system, and telling you what you can and can't have on it. Twins is an ugly, yet efficient alternative.

Vault: The best notetaker/organizer there is. Technically it's shareware, but it's free to use, with a nag.

Firebird Browser: automatic form filler, popup stopper, tabbed browsing, easy access to options, avoids many Internet Exploret vulnerabilities.

Clipomatic: A clipboard cache program - it remembers what was copied to the clipboard even after new data is copied, and allows you to retrieve the old data

IrFran viewer: Was the best viewer of graphics and other media out there, and it was free. It no longer seems to be offered for free download. For you poor saps that missed it -- too bad, so sad. Try a file-sharer.
SpyBot S&D: Finds and cleans spyware on your system. Even if you don't care about people watching what you're doing on the internet spyware bugs your computer out, and makes it run slower.
