What's Your Favourite Power Scene?

No Buffy for a while... Oh well, back to the tapes.

I was just rewatching Same Time, Same Place. The final scene of that episode still rocks me. It's quiet and yet at the same time so powerful.

I got to thinking, this must be my favourite power scene of Season 7. Then I remembered scenes like Spike burning on the cross in Beneath You, or Dawn Banishing the demon from her house in CWDP. There are so many power scenes in Season 7.

What's your favourite?
 
most definetly the one you said also the scene when Anya was asking to sacrafice herself to undo what she did even though she knew the price.
 
I forgot about that one. That scene was wild. It's the kind that gets your brain going and your heart pumping at the same time, and if the smoke alarm goes off while your watching, you don't hear it.

It makes me remember another one like that where a lot of what's happening is happening below the surface.

Do you remember that one where Buffy has finally offed the Uber Vamp and she goes to rescue Spike?

She's standing at the entrance to the cave and she's just watching Spike hanging there, and you're thinking "What's the hold up Buffy. Go cut him loose", then you're thinking "Oh my God, she thinks he's turned. She's going to dust him". Then Spike starts giving her attitude because he thinks she's the first, and Buffy realizes he's Kosher, so she goes to cut him down, and as she's cutting him loose Spike's hand touches her shoulder and Spike realizes she's real, and she looks up at him and he looks down at her, and am I wrong, or is that the first time anything like real tenderness has ever passed between the two of them. Then she helps him out of the cave.

That scene was powerful.

I remember that scene, it was very powerful. The first time she has openly showed emotions to him and he didnt know what to believe. You could see him being very happy and surprised at the same time that she came to rescue him.
 
I agree with nerd4hire.

The scene between Buffy and Spike was very romantically powerful.

I also think the scene in "Get it Done" was also very powerful, even if people think Buffy needs to step off her high horse. Shew as trying to state to everybody just what is going to be happening.
 
I agree. I think Buffy's speeches are written off by us fans (and Andrew) too quickly sometimes. They can be very empowering.

I particularly liked the prelude to thunderdome speech:

For pure mind blowing, wide eyed, up on the edge of your seat power though, can you beat the "Willow possessed by the First" scene? That one caught me by complete surprise.
 
Ooo, good question. I don't know if this is considered a power scene, or a good one at that. But this one pushed me back in my chair, shocked me a little. It's from "The Killer In Me", when Willow/Warren is in the gun shop and they say:
Clerk: So same model as last time? How'd that work out for you?
Willow: You'd be amazed.

Not so much the dialogue, but the grin on Willow's face and the way she says it. Creepy even.

Well that's the first scene that came to mind, but sure to think of a better one later on.
 
My favorite scenes are the least scene from Same Time Same place and the last scene from Storyteller....I just loved watching Andrew have a change of heart. I'm an Andrew fan now.
 
Are you referring to scenes with good shock value and stuff like that? I would have to agree with the final scene in "Beneath You". It was beautifully done and the dialogue was great, although the original cut of the scene was different and it ended in a way that was also very good and creepy, I still think that final shot of Spike on the cross was great. You know what? There have been so many that I can't remember a lot off of the top of my head right now. It seems like you are just referring to season 7, and not the others (Becoming Pt. 2's ending, Consequences' ending...) Angel has had a lot of good ones too.
 
One of my favorites (And their are quite a few) is the end of "Lessons"!🙂😀

It had all the big bads hovering over Spike, and then Buffy giving the eternal quote "It's all about power"....I love watching that scene over and over again!🙂😀😉

Another would have to be the scene in "Selfless" when Willow is talking to the girl on the floor, and the spider demon crawls up and Will makes a forcefield, but her eyes go all black and she tells the girl to shut up crying. OoO, I love how it gave me a glimpse of how bad-ass Evil Willow really was😉😀

Yeah... I guess if I'm gonna be inventing words I should maybe tell people what they mean, right?

OK, this is what I mean by a "power scene". It's like this: If you've ever been sitting there watching Buffy and suspected sometime in the previous 5 minutes you may have been shouting Wow, ooh, aah, or emitting some other "watching the fireworks" kind of sound, and you arrive at this conclusion by observing the stunned expressions of the other people in the room, staring at you like they're wondering what section of the phone book looney bin is under, then you notice the coffee table's turned over, and the popcorn bowl is on the floor, and your little brother is looking up at you with eyes like frisbees, and he's telling you you swore, and for the next 2 weeks a particular scene from Buffy keeps popping into your brain like a recurring dream, you've witnessed a BTVS power scene.

Those two scenes Wiccan Willow mentioned in the post she just slipped in between yours and mine: Definitely power scenes.

BTW Hell yes... include Angel Season 4 power scenes. Aren't they great! Didn't you love when Faith heard Angel was in trouble and she came flying through the glass partition in the visitor's room of the prison.
 
i realy like the Buffy Willow scene in i think Graduation day pt.1 or its ether pt.2... well the scene when buffy tells Willow that angel has left her and is leaving town and Buffy says something like, "somethin...keeping myself from dieing *cry in willows lap*" well you proberbly know what i mean!

I think i had never been so happy with a dialogue EVER
