What's your first memory of Buffy (the tv show)?

Mine is sitting in my dorm room in college alone, watching the pilot on the little 13" tv I had that I borrowed from my sister lol

Mine is watching the pilot when I was 16 or near 17, at home. It was scary, but funny and good at all once, I never knew tv could do this! Then my Mum wanted to go for a walk after with the dogs, and it was dark so I carried around a cross with me lol. This was like 10 years ago, so I of course am not this crazy now *twitch* 😉

Mine was going over to my friends house, and she was sitting there watching the episode "Teachers Pet". I never actually got into Buffy until the series had ended. I hired out all the dvds.

I was playing a board game with some people, and the TV was on with no sound. I'd heard of the show, but thought it sounded stupid. My attention kept on being drawn to the vampires on the show as I played the game. I made up my mind I'd made the right decision not to watch it based on that. I was buzzed with drink.

Later I got into Angel, and kept on sneaking over to Buffy, because I'd heard they were related. The first thing I saw was that guy in the rubber shark head in Tabula Rasa. This further confirmed my idea it was a stupid show, but I'd still turn to it, and let it play in the background as I worked on the computer.

One day I was on the rerun channel, and everybody on the show just stopped talking. I turned to see what was going on. It was Hush. I've been hooked ever since.

i remember that id seen the whole angel series, and then i was considering getting into buffy because, like N4H, i heard they were related. when i watched the first episode (not the actual first episode, the first one i saw), the most prominent thing i remember thinking is 'they have this odd style of talking. i wonder if i'll get used to that?' :silly:.

Luxor hotel, Las Vegas, May 1997...Mrs P crashed out in bed...me not able sleep, so watching TV with the sound way down...Welcome to the Hellmouth came on and I thought that it was something to do with the film, which I'd heard was pretty average...but, hey, this was actually pretty good! I made a mental note to look out for it, if it ever came to the UK...the rest is history...actually, strictly speaking, all of it is history, on account of it being in the past 😀

We were getting ready to move house in '97 & Andy was nagging at me to watch some crummy show, I'd never heard of about a vampire slayer at high school....

I just thought - 'How stupid an idea for show is that?! It's gonna be crap'

I was bored one night and sitting on the floor doing a jigsaw so I put the TV on. And there was Halloween. i was hooked from then on. Only to find out that my mum had been watching it since the first episode and hadnt told me 🙁

Now, take into account I was really young when Buffy first aired. I was bored, started switching channels and caught the scene where Buffy rose from the grave as a vampire and Xander and Willow were all like "WTF?". I was really creeped out by that scene, so I switched the channel.

Thirty seconds later I got bored again and switched it back. I remember having NO IDEA what was going on but I watched it anyway. I remember my mom coming as asking me what I was doing, and I said, "Watching some scary show. Come on, it's kinda cool."

My mom and I became Buffy freaks at that moment.

I was 14 and the first episode I watched was Surprise from Season 2. It was cancelled (or at least put on hold on Sky 1) when it reached episode Phases, I think. Then I had to wait a while before Sky 1 started the show again from the pilot 🙂

My story is a lot like N4H's. I heard about the show, watched random episodes, and really thought it was the most stupid thing ever.

My first actual memory though, was how I kept hurrying home from school in order to catch the reruns of season 4 on channel 5 in Sweden. It was censored and the subtitles were horrible, but I started listening to the dialogues more carefully, and they were the first thing I fell for when it comes to BtVS. The second thing was Willow 🙂

My first memory of Buffy was when my family and I watched the movie together. I don't know if we had rented it or what (I hope we didn't). I thought the movie was sooooo bad... but funny at the same time.

When I saw ads for the new series that was coming on TV (I must have caught it when they started it again on Sky 1 as Jules said) I thought it was gonna be just as bad as the movie but I just couldn't stop myself from watching it. I watched Welcome to the Hellmouth and I remember thinking that the ending was obsurd... of course Buffy wasn't gonna die in the first episode. So I found myself interested to find out how they would get her out of trouble. From then on I was hooked and the show just kept getting better and better.

i was sitting with my mum and dad. i remember telling my mum after seeing an ad on tv about hte show something like "omg mum i cant miss this, i have to watch it... shes a vampire slayer.. a VAMPIRE slayer" haha.. i was only like 7 when i started watching it. And I remeber sitting on a blue rug watching the first ep ever... and i remember highlighting episodes in the tv guide becuase there was no way i was missing it and my dad didnt like it. but my mum did. she loves those sort of supernaturaly shows 😉 AND THATS THE FIRST MEMORY I HAVE... sitting on a blue rug overly excited about a vampire slayer called 'Buffy'. i really did love the first season.. ALOT 😀

I didn't get into watching Buffy until it was over. But I would have to say four years ago, coming home to my second apartment after being gone for three months. First time I had cable t.v. I watched the first episode of season 1 on FX one afternoon while on my hour lunch break from work. I was so hooked after that. FX aired reruns like twice a day I think. I would get up and watch Buffy at 6 a.m. while I got dressed for work then rush home on my lunch break and watched Buffy again that afternoon. Soon I was out buying the DVDs so I could watch Buffy when I was working away from home for 4 1/2 months. The last three years Buffy DVDs have on road with me living out dorm rooms and tack rooms as I gave up my apartment since I was never home anyhow until I got pregnant with my son and moved to Illinois in September where I live in a apartment again.

My first memories of Buffy was the advertising campaign on BBC 2 and me and my best friend were both really hyped up by it!

Then when I did watch the first show, it was instantly mesmerising and I totally identified with the Scoobs and wanted to be part of their world! It was the first tv show that I got hooked too - and nothing has even come close in 10 years!

Geez, its been 10 years...meaning my first buffy memories were when i was 7...it just doesnt seem right! But anyway I remember the bbc 2 advertising, and I sat and watched the first episode of buffy with my mum. She hated it and never watched it again, I fell in love and slowly but surely converted my brothers to be fans! I also remember once I wasnt aloud to watch one episode because I was being forced to have a bath or something (Bear in mind I was seven) so i never say teachers pet till years later when I bought the videos lol!

i think i had just turned 13 or 14 when BBC2 started advertising BTVS. i remember walking down the corridor in school, and my friends were commenting on a show they'd seen advertised, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. almost everyone thought it sounded really lame, like 'OMG, what sort of show is THAT gonna be?' but i was actually really interested.
so i went home, checked the TV Guide, saw which day it was gonna be on, and posted reminders all over my room.
I watched WTTH, and thought 'hey, this is actually pretty cool. That Xander guy's pretty cute.' so basically, for the first season, i watched for Xander, lol.
and then, by the time S2 had started, we got cabel, so i was able to watch it on Sky One, and then, like Jules said, they put it on hold, so i went back to BBC2 and watched the eps i'd already seen. but by that time i was already hooked, and was going through with drawls waiting for the show to pick up again! lol

My sister said there was a re-run of the best episode of Buffy, Hush. I watched it, but found it too scary. I watched Real Me later, which got me hooked.

My earliest memory was Being in blockbusters feeling very bored and i fancied something meaty, then saw Buffy's Becomming and Innocence on video, watched it, got HOOKED, especially as it had DB on the cover at the back and i thought "what a hottie!"
I started seeing it on BBC2 then on SKY one, before the service got taken away, (wasn't my choice). My fav season is s2.

I've been a fan of Buffy ever since I seen the movie when I was 6 years old. I was young and I loved the idea of a girl fighting vampires (Also because I had a crush on Kristy Swanson.) Then a few years later, I heard that they had made a Buffy the Vampire Slayer show and that it was gonna start in like a week so I got super excited. I watched the pilot and I really liked it but for some reason I didn't watch it anymore until the season three episode "The Wish." The first scene I saw was the one where Buffy is talking to Cordelia in the alley and I felt really bad for Cordy even though I had no idea what was going on. I saw that ep but again, I didn't watch regularly. I started watching it officially for the episode "Graduation Day part 2." Then when Angel and Buffy Season 4 started, I never missed an episode. I also remember the Buffy finale aired on my birthday, we had company over. I missed everything except for the part where Buffy tells Spike she loves him up until the end.
