What's your first Buffy memory?

I vividely remember watching the first episode from season 2, When she was bad and especially the first scene with Willow and Xander and the ice cream. I rememeber thinking what a cute couple they were at the time.
But I only got into it the next year with season 3. I remember watching season 3, 4 and 5 thouroughly on tv and talking with my friends about it. But I only bought my first dvd box (season 5) about 3 years ago.

Mine is that while i was reading the previews for upcoming new shows for the year i said to my husband something like, 'OMG, they've made that movie Buffy the vampire slayer into a tv show. i didn't think it was that good.' never the less we tuned in and were hooked from the beginning.

''I Will Remember You'' is my first Buffy memory (I know, I know, it's not BtVS, but still), and I remember crying for hours after it ended. The very next day there was ''Something Blue'' (our TV program really sucks here in Croatia), and I never stopped watching either ever since... And never decided what am I; a Spuffy or a Bangel. But that's a little off-topic. 😛

It all started when the Blair Witch Project came out, there was some documentry on sky about it and as I didnt have sky I asked my boss to tape it for me, when he brought the tape in he said there was an episode of the simpsons and buffy on there too.

I had heard of buffy but never seen it and didnt think it would be my thing, well the episode was The Zeppo from Season 3, and I was hooked. Next day my boss gave me the lowdown on buffy and started taping it every week for me and then it came back on bbc 2 and the rest is history.

love the quote in your sig :)
(Before I tell this, let me say that I have witnesses who will swear to its truthfulness!!)

A couple of friends and I were coming out of the theater after seeing the original movie. Being HIGHLANDER fans, our conversation was, as it usually was when we got together, the merits of making tv series out of our favorite movies, and I remember saying, "If this ever goes to the tv series, they have GOT to find a better Buffy!"

We have a little Buffy-Fest every year, and I think my favourite year was when I had a cake imprinted with the Buffy insignia, and every one there just stopped and applauded. It was pretty cool

My first memory, is in October, I was in the living room, I was really ill and off school, I was flicking through channels and found The Puppet Show on, I decided to watch it and I became addicted.

oh shoot sorry i thought for some reason it read FAVOURITE. My First Buffy Memory comes as no suprise...I was in the basement lights off Watching Buffy trounce the Master in Prophecy Girl (of course I didn't know it then)

If we could include the movie, my most vivid memory was the absolutely absurd casting of Pee Wee Herman as a vampire and the ridiculous way he died. As for the TV series, I came upon it late. My first episode was "Once More With Feeling," and that was only out of curiosity about a musical episode.

When I first heard about Buffy the show was long after I saw the movie, and at first I wasnt too sure I wanted to see the show, after all the movie wasnt that good. But one night after it had been on for about 4 years , I was flipping through channles and saw it on. The eppy that happen to be on at the time was " Doppelgangland" and I thought it was strange at the time because I came in half way throught it ( but I did know who Buffy , Willow , Zander was).So I went ahead and watch the reast of the show that night and after it was over. I thought to myself it was not half bad, I was excepting it to be kinda goofy like the movie was. But after I watched it. I changed my mind., and been a fan ever since.

my first memory was when i had 9years old and buffy was on air for the first time here in portugal. i didnt know what was that show but i watched it anyway and i loved it. i guess the episode was the initiative and the only part i remember is when riley is showing the initiative to buffy.

My first Buffy memory probably goes back all the way to 1998 or 1999 when I was only 9 or 10 & I rented Welcome To The Hellmouth & The Harvest from Blockbuster & I already loved the show. Fastforward 3 years later to when the whole first season came out on DVD & I got it & watched it over & over, then got every box set the day they came out. I would save my allowance to make sure I had enough by the release date then make my mom bring it home on her lunch break so I could have it when I got out of school. Those were the days!!!

It was the summer of 1998, I think. Buffy was being shown on Sky One for the first time. This was its preview in the UK and Ireland. I remember hearing an announcement for BtVS coming up next. I decided to check it out. Wasn't that impressed. It was only after Season 2 that I became a diehard Buffy fan.

im sad to say i didn't actually start watching the show until after the series ended. however, i caught part of an episode while it WAS still airing, and i do believe i will remember it for a long time: i was skimming through channels some years back (keep in mind i hadn't even heard of 'buffy') and something on screen caught my attention. so i decided to stop and watch it. needless to say i now know it as the last 10 or so minutes of the season 5 finale 'the gift.' i had no clue what was going on, and i didn't know who any of the characters were or anything. i watched those last minutes of the episode, and by the end i was in tears!! i was literally crying my heart out because of that scene and the speech buffy said to dawn, that i immediately ran up to my room afterwards and cried for a while, though i had no idea what the show was about or what was really going on.

suffice to say, THAT is what makes great television!! and back then i rarely cried for anything, so way to go joss. he had me bawling like a baby in minutes. that's my first buffy memory...

Watching the Buffy movie on HBO or something. I got addicted to the Buffy movie.

And that was also while the show was in it's last season or something.

Shameful? Yes. Start of a great thing? Another yes.

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

The first Buffy moment I still remember (not the first time I saw the show though) was back in college. It was probably either Thursday or Friday, I was out drinking and doing other stuff with friends and somehow ended up in some dude's dorm room (friend of a friend) who I didn't know. He was there watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer alone while everyone else was out partying and my friend and I gave him WTF are you doing man line?? but the guy was crazy about the show, said it was the best thing on tv and that we should give it a chance. Okay, so we started watching and to my surprise the show rocked. Then Giles comes on playing and singing "Behind Blue Eyes", which is one of my favorite songs. I've been hooked ever since...

I think the episode was called "Where the Wild Things Are" from Season 4 (perfect for a college party night) - the one in which Buffy and Riley are compelled to have sex at a frat house by some mystical force...
