What's Your Mantra?

heres a few more

Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.

Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I LOVE these! Especially the last one. It's so true! 😉

My mantra is simple. Awake and unafraid. It's very personal to me and it gets me through a lot. Thank you for sharing these. They're wonderful!

Life is like a game of cards, you make the best out of what you are dealt, even if you have to bluff to do so...

Dude...I bet you are a wicked card player, good hand or not!
You mean like, "Know when to hold em, and know when to fold em"?

There's lot's of song mantras aren't there?

Don't worry. Be Happy.

I get knocked down, then I get up again.
Nothing's ever gonna keep me down.

Party like it's 1999.

Remember how far away 1999 felt when that song came out? lol
dude that song is awesome.... "You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your money when youre sittin at the table.
Therell be time enough for countin when the dealins done."

Ok sorry enough singing lol

People are sh*t.

And yes its on topic and no its not aimed at anyone inparticular.

In my life I have come to discover that most people are sh*t. People are selfish and mostly out for themselves.

Obviously there are a few exceptions but in general people are sh*t.

Sad but true!
everything happens for a reason

I second that. But also, I believe not knowing the reason is frustrating.

agreed - sometime you have to wait years for an event to make sence but normally everything falls into place
I'd like to say that mine is 'Don't look back!' but it seems that I'm better at giving that one as advice to others than following it myself... lol. Ironic? (I feel a song coming on... 😀)

"If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" - that goes out to all management theorists everywhere but particularly the numpties employed by the UK Civil Service.

"If something is easy, there's no point in making it more complicated just because you can" - ditto

Edmund Blackadder
Isn't the general Civil Service Mantra 'If it IS broke, don't try to fix it' though?
For some reason I thought this was about songs.

Anyway, my mantra is seeimple.

'Don't get caught', and/or depending on the situation, 'deny everything'.

LOL! SO appropriate...;)
My general philosophy is best summed up by Emily Haines. Even if I have gotten a wee bit disillusioned with the lady herself of late.

"Anything that happens to you is just your life getting lived. Sometimes it feels like we're afraid of events and action of any kind. But if you can get a little distance from it, it becomes an incredible adventure no matter how things turn out."

Sounds a wee bit cheesy, but it puts everything into a nice, take-it-easy perspective.

most days it's "just breathe"
for work it is "stay curious" (I painted a picture of curious george on my door to help me remember to never get to the place where i think i know)

and when I am feeling down..."it doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop."
For life: Let the world change you and you can change the world.

also, Rayne--love "awake and unafraid." excellent.
