What's your profession?

I'm a Martal Arts Instructor and fitness trainer at my local gym.
I teach Kickboxing, basic self-defence classes for girls and some mid-level Karate- helps me get all my aggression out! 😀

That's really cool
I'm a stay at home parent right now (bring on primary school!). Before having the destroyer I was a bar worker and student, studying to be a complementary therapist. I desperately want to go back to education and either further my therapist education or do something involving social care. Or both.

It's a shame combining motherhood and education/work is still so hard in the UK. It's hard here, too, (says the student/teacher/mother), but in the doable part of the spectrum.

Childcare is so damn expensive we would be out of pocket if we both worked instead of one of us at home. It's ridiculous. She'll get 15 hours per week (I think) of free nursery time when she's 3, hoping to study part time then.
English teacher in a private elementary school, so thankfully most of my students aren't bad at speaking English - I forbade speaking their mother tongue in my class so they'll practice using English more. But writing is a different story. 😕

Haha tell me about it, the writing is one of the hardest!
I work as a software analyst. I dabble in development, but I would never claim to be a "professional" at anything. I love to learn stuff and I'm self-taught in pretty much everything I know (which again, I'd never profess to be a lot!)

I'm naturally a good problem solver and very pedantic, both of which help a lot in my career!

I've worked on all sorts in the past; websites, intranets, Windows software; I'm now branching into iOS and Android apps. Depends on the next project which ends up in my lap 😉

Well for me, the fact I'm a kickboxer who loves Buffy is a total coincidence, although I will admit to loving Buffy first. I wouldn't say it got me into the sport or anything, but it certainly didn't stop me from wanting to kick some serious butt on a regular basis 😉

And again in the martial arts, I have a First Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. But I am retired electrical engineer who worked mainly in avionics and spacecraft but I do like to write. I have a novel on my C drive that may never leave it, but it would be for a niche market.

Can we ask for what kind of niche market ?
@white avenger: I first started kick-boxing when I was 15 as a means of getting fit/working out and quickly got hooked.

I'm a 2nd Dan and qualified instructor- at the moment I'm trying to (slowly) broaden my style with some Aikido, Muay Thai and Karate for the past couple of years.

I won't say that i was inspired by Buffy- but she fits into that role-model that I wanted to be like. Confident and self-assured without being a bully about your strength.
