The plan here is rain possible all day but clearing tomorrow.
I was out walking the dog yesterday under threatening skies and I was about 1.5 km from home when the thunder I had heard turned into a light sprinkle of rain when I was at the farthest part of the Tuesday dog route. By the time I had gone another hundred metres, the rain was coming down hard enough to saturate all the clothes I had on, including filling up my rubber boots (the one bit of foresight I had) from the small space between my pants and the boots. By the time I got home, I managed to pour out over a litre of water from each of the boots and there were no holes in the soles - they just filled up that high from the top. The pool level, which was already high, rose an additional two inches which I had to pump off. I had a shower and changed everything and did a laundry last night of what I had on plus what had accumulated since Sunday, my usual laundry day.
Last night when I was going to pick up my son-in-law from work, Highway 410 was closed due to flooding, so I got redirected onto Highway 401 east. I never got there. I called and told him it would take a couple of hours to get there (the trip is usually 13 minutes) and he took an Uber home. On the plus side, we have never been threatened by forest fires and we don't have to water the lawn.
