Whedon Fest Toronto - Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dollhouse convention

There is a new convention in toronto, canada called Whedon Fest

It takes place Oct 1 - 3, 2010
Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre

First guest annoucement is Nicholas Brendon!

I found out about this yesterday via Twitter and now I'm like a kid in a candy store! 😀 Seriously, a CANADIAN convention? That I could quite easily get to? ON MY BIRTHDAY?? 😀 😀 😀 I'm going to have to save all summer to afford it, but I think this would be *amazing* to go to. Does anyone know if this event has gone on before? Can anyone speak as to whether or not it's worth going to?

Also it should be mentioned that Amy Acker is now a confirmed guest as well, and supposedly this is her very first Canadian appearance. And I think there's still more names to come (*prays that Tahmoh is added to the list, he's Canadian after all! 😀).

Anyone else thinking of going?

Yeah, it is 🙁 About the same as the DH Convention in UK a few months ago. I'll be saving alllll summer for this bad boy!

Guess this is what I'll be spending my moula from my summer job on. Its worth it though because I've never got to go to a real whedon one before.

This looks like a promising event. Hope more guests decide to come and make it more interesting.
 
Oh! Dan K told me about your post today Emzzie lol 😛 I don't know if i'll be able to drive there... I'm gonna think about it seriously though. Gonna keep up to date with what's going on. If there's more guests... :biggrin3:

It's awesome that they had one in Canada finally!
 
Hrm, I live in Detroit about 3 hours away. If anyone else is planning on doing this I would love to go. I'd hate to be solo though and I don't really have any friends in the area rabid enough to go with me.

If anyone else is thinking of going let me know I'd like to as well.

Hmm, maybe I'll drag Miss Wishing4Hope along, too! Are you guys gonna dress up?

i can usually never go to any cons i WANT to go to as 99% of em happen in the states. if i'm not working (and outta those 3 days i hope i can get ONE off) i'll def. check it out.

That's a nice idea, but as I'll be going with a non-buffy fan I think for her sake I'll have to refrain from dressing up 😉

I might wear a BTVS/Dollhousey T-shirt though 🙂

I don't think that I'm going to dress up at all... Unless the vast majority of people will be in costumes, that is. 😀
 
If you go to the dance it says to dress up, but apart from the dance if I end up going I won't dress up during it.
 
I'll be sure to wear clothing... just perhaps not BtVS-related clothing. It'd be an embarrassing TTC ride out to the airport.

Ahh, that makes sense. 🙂 But, really, what is there to dress up as? Don't most of our character's look like normal, everyday people? 😀

I dunno. If I do go, maybe I'll go as Dru. Just to try out that "look". (sw)
