[Whedonesque] Angel: Auld Lang Syne TPB released today.

Checked this one out, for the heck of it. It's...not bad. Anyone read it? I liked it more than "Asylum". I much prefer this art. It's a lot cleaner, more refined. For the story, Tipton kind of recycles a few different plot devices used on the show, combines them into a new story. I thought Spike sounded more like Spike here. Angel was maybe a little blah, but his character's harder to translate to the written page, I think.

I thought it was probably the best of the Angel mini series thus far, though I am kinda between this one and the curse. I think Aud Lang Syne suffered badly from being after Old Friends, which had a similar concept, and while it was definitely better (Old Friends sucked), it didn't feel particularly new. There are far better ones out right now from IDW, specifically the Character spotlights, and the 3 Spike one shots. Masks was hit or miss, but overall it was good too.
