Whedon's Cabin in the Woods is a mini reunion I say

So I watched that tonight and I don't know what the general overall opinion stands on this movie but it was like my birthday watching this movie just for the random group of actors I recognized from Buffy/Angel/Dollhouse it made me so happy to see them all again on one screen. My husband just rolled his eyes at me since everytime I saw a person I recognized he got a little buffy/angel/dollhouse trivia to go with it lol

"Oh that is Fred from Angel!" or "Hey there is Topher, he was in Dollhouse! So was Fred!" and "Omg Andrew!"

Needless to say, I got to hit nerdiness maximum tonight and I loved it 🙂

Haha, I love that movie.

I saw it in theaters (It's 11:06 here and I'm debating whether or not to go to Wal-Mart and buy it right now) and I kept leaning over to my friend, who hasn't seen any Joss stuff before, and basically doing the same thing. "Hey, there's Topher! And Andrew! And Thor!" Eventually he told me to shut-up.

Still, that was awesome. Joss has a movie coming out in the future called "much ado about nothing", and from the looks of it it's basically a boat load of Whedonverse actors.

Okay, to hell with it, I'm off to Wal-Mart.

I haven't seen it yet but waiting for my copy to arrive. I'm aware that there's a lot of familiar faces but not sure how many. Maybe I'll find someone that I didn't know about. As for "Much ado about nothing" that'll be a given to watch when giving the chance. At least it now has someone to distribute it so the chances has increased.

I didn't know they were in the movie. I am really wanting to see it. To see Joss put together a horror movie.

It was a fun movie. I don't really do horror movies, but this had that certain Joss twist to it, not to mention the script was awesome. Seeing the old Whedon crew made me geek out pretty hard as I had stayed away from finding anything out about the film. To the extent that I didn't even know who was in it. What really made my night though, was as my friend and I were coming out of the cinema there was a group of teenaged girls talking loudly (as teenaged girls tend to do) about how much of the cast was in Joss Whedon shows. Being a man in my mid-thrities I decided not to approach the young women and offer a high five, as that would have been creepy. But I considered it 🙂

Yes the movie was not your average horror and it definitly had a Joss twist! I actually said while watching it "this movie has Joss written all over it and I love it."

I just watched it last night....and you know what I was pleasantly suprised. It did end up being scary and it had a twist I wasn't expecting! Yeah, there were tons of people I recognized! Gotta love cameos!

Cabin in the Woods was one of the things (along with The Avengers and remembering how awesome Firefly was) that made me decide that I was going to watch everything Joss has made, so I've seen the movie twice: once before I recognized everyone, and once afterwards. Yeah, there are a fair number of Joss Whedon people in there, and that's awesome. (And is it possible for him to not put Amy Acker in a lab coat? Seriously.) Though Tom Lenk appearing as Ronald the Intern made me laugh the hardest because it's such a perfect role for him.
