Are you the type of Star Wars fan who, even though you're in your 30s, likes to dress up like an Imperial Stormtrooper?

Or think Lara Croft is more real than not?

Or is your idea of romance taking your special someone to see Avatar"”for the 12th time?

If you answered yes to any of the above and have been to geekapalooza Comic-Con, then Joss Whedon may want to talk to you"¦

I just got word that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator is developing a documentary feature about Comic-Con that will be centered on a still-to-be-cast group of convention-going superfans.

Whedon is teaming up with award-winning Super Size Me director Morgan Spurlock, according to a source.

"They want to follow people for about three months leading up to this year's Comic-Con," the source said. "And then they want to film them there. They're looking at all types of people."

Whedon and Spurlock did not immediately comment for this story.

Spurlock is no stranger to the annual summertime San Diego event. He was there last year scouting out Simpsons superfans for a documentary coinciding with the 20th anniversary of Matt Groening's animated series.

As for Whedon, he's Joss Whedon!

Need we say more?

Wonder was this what he was talking about when he said by the time Dollhouse ended we'd know what he's doing next?

Bit of jump into something new!

Oh my gosh! This sounds so cool. A documentary about fandoms and fans. I love it! It reminds me of that movie "Trekkies."

What I'd love more, though, would be a documentary entirely about the Buffy fandom...

*sigh*

Only in my dreams.

Joss doing a documentary? Didn't think that would be the new project. I prefer his stories. 😉

At least he's doing something. Ha. Sounds different but good. 🙂
I agree with Bluebie though, i prefer his stories. ^.^

Sounds interesting to me.
Next, he should do a documentary of Buffy fans, and film people before Hallowhedon...whatever number it is by then. Eh, Tasha? 😉
It sounds fairly interesting; not really something I can imagine from Joss, but interesting all the same.

LOL , Probs when we're in our 60's. :D
Well, Joss likes challenges and doing things that he's never done before, and a Comic;Con Convention documentary would definitely fill both bills. As for a documentary exclusive about Buffyverse fans, if he wants to do it from the prospective of a fan who's also a senior citizen, I'm always available.

Has there been something done of Buffy fans before?

I remember watching something and all I can remember is a group of women being interviewed and one of them saying Buffy fans are as bad a Trekkies but didn't get the same exposure.

I think it was an English thing aired around the time Season 6 started (if anyone watched S6 on SkyOne they had loads of things on when Buffy came back that year)

A whole bunch of interesting people including Joss Whedon and Stan Lee are going to make a Comic-Con documentary according to Deadline:

"A documentary is in the works involving Morgan Spurlock, Legendary Pictures chief Thomas Tull, superhero legend Stan Lee, Justice League director Joss Whedon and the randy redhead blogger Harry Knowles. They've teamed on Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope, a feature documentary that will follow seven people from around the world as they travel to the geek summit that is Comic-Con in San Diego."

This seems like the perfect team for such a (long overdue) project. We'll be first in line for tickets!
