Whedonverse Does Video Games

I've just finished running through Buffy: Chaos Bleeds (for the second time) with my husband. Really enjoyed having a little bit more Buffy after all of the (decent) Buffy audio-visuals have passed ([HASHTAG]#motioncomicsfail[/HASHTAG]). I've played the original before (a long time ago), but we don't have an XBOX right now, so we can't hop on that one just yet (though we're hoping for a 360 for the holidays, so fingers crossed). The voice acting in both games is pretty good! ...even though it's lacking Sarah Michelle, Giselle Lauren does a phenomenal job capturing Buffy's essence. Not to mention, you get Alyson, Charisma and David in the first, as well as Anthony, Nick, and James, plus Eliza and Robin (Ethan Rayne) in the second.

Anyway, this has spawned in me a Need for more Whedonverse in video games, so I've been doing my research.

Eliza stars in the game WET as a totally hot and bad-a** bitca who can kick some serious tail (Faith anyone?).

NPH voices The Amazing Spiderman in Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions, [*NERDGASM*], as well as the main character in Rock of the Dead, a ZOMBIE-killing game where the combat is GUITAR-BASED, using the actual guitar remotes (Rock Band, Guitar Hero...) instead of a normal controller! And who is Neil's love interest in the game? Felicia Day. 🙂

Anthony Stewart Head is the narrator in a new 3D platformer about a teeny wizard, Flip's Twisted World.

I know Nathan does Halo stuff, and Felicia's in Fallout New Vegas...

What else have we got? Who else Whedony has lent their familiar voices we know and love to the console?
 
Well, you already mentioned Felicia in Fallout New Vegas, but she also voices Zojja, an Asura in Guild Wars 2 (which I'm super excited about, since a) Felicia!, b) Guild Wars! I LOVE Guild Wars, so this is fantastic!). Nathan also voices a character in Jade Empire. I was very much not prepared for that and almost fell off my chair when I heard him xD

Edit: Oh, I'm an idiot. Speaking of Jade Empire, Armin Shimerman (Snyder) also voices two characters in it. He's also in Mass Effect.
 
Nathan in Jade Empire? Really? I've played that (never finished), tho it looks like I'll have to pick it up again! Is a it big role? Or is he just like one of the townsfolk or whatever?
 
He's Gao The Lesser, so you should have encountered him already 😉
 
Haha! I found him 4 minutes in! I don't remember it at all (It's been Years since I've played, and I hadn't seen Firefly at that point, so that's probably why 😛). I also have No idea how much of a role Gao plays in the rest of the game... If I were playing because I wanted Nathan Fillion, would it be worth it? Or is that about it for him?
 
It was a really fun game. According to wiki, it says she'll be in Saints Row 3 as well whenever that comes out. Which I will definitely get. 😀

OMG, this is the biggest news ever! :D
I wanna get my hands on the XBox game, but I'm wondering does it work on 360? can anyone tell me?
If it does, I'll try track it down.

Also, I bought Wet a couple weeks ago. Absolutely loved it. Rubi is such a badass. Eliza is perfect to play her. I loved it.
 
@joey I'm pretty sure DC Universe Online is PS3 exclusive (and PC). 🙁
Also, thanks for the WET review. I'm totally pickin' that up once we get our 360!
 
I was refferring to the Buffy game, actually. Should have made that clearer. 😀
Just wondering because, it's an XBox original game, will it work on the 360.

Yeah, Wet is a lot of fun. It plays out like a bad B action movie. Lots of violence and swearing though.
I picked it up for 10 euro in HMV. Not sure if you have HMV in Georgia, but see if you can pick it up for cheap.
It's a pretty short game. You wouldn't want to be paying full price for it, you know? 🙂
 
I had Chaos Bleeds for the Gamecube and, while the plot was interesting, I just did not enjoy the gameplay. Too many frustrating points where you run around aimlessly until you happen to run into a solution, I felt.

That said - the multiplayer was fun. Killing vamps with in a team with your friends is cool.

XD had so much fun with the multiplayer. hurling icky green stuff at your friends when you play as a zombie, gold gorilla gesticulating ahhhh good times. I crack up just thinking about it!
@joey We don't have a 360, but when I checked online, Buffy was on the 360-compatible list.

Oh really? Cool. I'll try buy it online or something then. 😀

Yeah, Wet is a lot of fun, and the story is entertaining to follow. It really is like a Grindhouse type of thing.
But it is also a short game, so be warned. You might be better off renting it, or buying it on sale.
 
Actually, I just got a 360 today and I already had the orignal Buffy game for Xbox, but it doesn't play on it.
 
Just remembered, Seth Green also voices a character in Mass Effect I and II.

:O Really??? D: That breaks my lil' Buffy-lovin' heart! We're about to get a 360 (and the Buffy game was one of our deciding factors of 360>PS3)! D: D: D: I saw it listed online that it should play. That. Sucks. *pouty face*
