Whedonverse references in your everyday life!

I don't make Buffy quotes as often as they spring to my mind. This is probably a good thing cause there's a likely chanced I would be locked up in a padded cell by now (*snort* Normal Again).

I had clients at my last work that have had really similar names to Buffyverse characters and actors, and because of the stupid dr confidentiality law I can't say anything to anyone! That always drives me crazy!

A lot of the time it will be as simple as OMFW quotes, which is always sung back to the person that made the mistake of using a similar line to a song. Luckily a lot of my friends have the habit of singing responses that spring to mind though so it doesn't make me to crazy in public.

The thing that I really have to stop myself from doing though, is when meeting someone for the first time, or introducing myself. "Hi we haven't been properly introduced, I'm Buffy, and you're history" That is really getting off on the wrong crazy foot!

I sing OMWF all the time. We almost hit a bunny the other day and I went off into song. It was fun.
I was going to say this last night but I forgot. We were on our way back from dinner and my dad wanted to stop at the store... my sister and I stayed in the car. I was playing music (Bad- JM) and Xena says "Zoà«, turn off the music. I have a headache and I'm tired. Why won't you let me rest in peace?" I CRACKED up and she was like "Yes, I meant to do that. I was going to say 'why won't you just shut up' then I decided 'let me rest in peace' would be funnier." Sometimes, I love her.

This is why I love Buffy Boards so much...because sometimes I feel so alone in my love for B, but never here! I felt like such a dork when I met someone a few months ago through a friend who also likes the Whedon world. My eyes literally almost popped out of my head as I took in a sharp breath and uttered "No Way" and then preceded to ramble on in Buffy talk. You should have seen his face!!

I also drive by "Sunnyvale" all the time and it never fails to make me thing of Buffy! I always pretend its the town Joss named Sunnydale after and how awesome it is that I live so close to it! lol

It's been the second time I've seen those two blonde kids in the street, brother and sister. They are playing around but they've got some serious bad vibes around them (specially the boy). When I see them, I can't help thinking they have some Gingerbread-creepiness.

you're gonna have to learn german if you want to get rid of them lol
Am I crazy for actually trying to make onion blossoms (like those that Spike adores)? And for those who were wondering, no that didn't work. Maybe I should have followed Spike's secret method...

I've got a good one! On the second day of my psych class this year, we were talking about ways people treated and thought of mental illness in the past and one of the methods was beating the demon out... then my teacher said "Little did they know, this method actually works.. but you need one special girl. See, to ever generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer." I said "she is the slayer" with him in the same tone used before each episode... I fell in love with that teacher that day.

HAHA, that is awesome!! For my psych class, we had a large lecture hall, and then a smaller discussion room...guess what the room number was...314...I only wish someone else in the class got the irony lol!!

I also wrote many Buffycentric papers in college, and I even took a class specifically because the teacher was an editor of a Buffy book!!

I use Buffy references all the time, and there are few people who get them, so I love busting out quotes, because people always think I made them up haha!!

So, my friend Johnny and I are sort of fighting right now, and I called him up and left a message saying, "Stop being all avoidy and call me back." I realized after I hung up that that's totally something Buffy would say, lol.

HAHA definitely something she would say!!
So there is this guy who is so annoying because he never clearly answers when you ask him a question. And he is kind of a pain in general. So I thougt "Damned, Cryptic Guy is soooo broody!". And I laugh because it's a double reference to Angel (the character). HAHA.

We were just talking about catatonic schizophrenia in psych and we were talking about how sometimes you can move people and they'll just stay there... and I said "LIKE DAWN IN SAME TIME, SAME PLACE!" My teacher was like "EXACTLY what i was thinking!" I love Mr. Tompson.

I love Mr. Thompson too! :D :D
I was in a meeting today, and the guy was giving us info on a computer program we use, and said "my 3 favorite words are save, save, save". I instantly thought "That's one word three times." But not out loud of course! I was silently LMAO.

bahaha! that's brilliant
Some guy on Facebook just posted about how gay people are horrible and he's so awesome because he's "perfect" and blah blah blah so I took Warren's line from Life Serial and said "You know what homophobia really means about you, don't you?" 😛 😀

hahahahahaah! that's awesome. Even though I hate Warren with a passion, the Trio could be funny at times
I'm beginning to think Buffy had a valid point that sales work is incredibly boring. I walk around the retail store where I work thinking, "I'm bored to tears even before the hour that wouldn't end." 😀 Also, the other day, I was helping a customer with men's fragrances and he was with his girlfriend, and I kept thinking, "You like slug? Go with slug! She's not gonna sleep with you anyway!" 😀

Love it!
So, last night I'm getting ready for bed and I changed my pajamas several times. I'm at that point in my life where I experience, er, "thermal changes". 🙂 I said to myself "I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm all-temperature VisionGirl" a la Forrest in Doomed.

OK, I've got another one (which proves I'm watching waaaay too much Buffy these days🙂). I'm having a surprise birthday party for my husband today, and I was sending out email invites, and instead of typing "Party at our house!" my fingers were simply itching to type "Hey, party in my eye socket, and everyone's invited." I'm sick, I know.

I often say "can you vague that up for me?".

Not a Whedon thing but every time the phrase "we fell out" or "we had a falling out" or anything similar comes up I always say "over post-its". Nobody ever knows what I mean and I never expand. I will give 45000 Points to anyone who knows what the hell I am talking about.

I use the vague line ALL the time!

The only thing that comes to mind is when Burger broke up with Carrie on S&TC, but I'm sure that's not it. 🙂

So far, just little weird and basic things that I say. I use Faith's "Five by Five". Whenever someone asks me what I'm doing somewhere i say "Out. For. A. Walk...Bitch" and I just adopted a new thing where instead of "What the hell?" I say "What the hell-mouth?"

By the way, when I saw it on your twitter, I decided to steal "What the Hellmouth." I started saying it. Epic.

How could they never think about doing that pun in the show? It's bloody brilliant! :D
I decided to throw it in here instead of making a thread about it.

Big Time Rush, this really popular Nickelodeon show, had a Halloween episode. is it bad that I'm 22 and I still watch a kids network? Anyway, the show follows this boy band as they make their first album and get famous and all that. In the Halloween episode they each get turned into one of the classic movie monsters that were in black and white. The one that gets turned into Dracula is then pursued by Muffy The Vampire Slayer who wants to slay him. lol

Oh it's no shame, I'm 19 and I watch Nickelodeon when I'm home alone/bored/sick/during exams :D
