The Buffy Boards Whedonverse Yearbook Contest​

Buffy's Yearbook wasn't too successful. Let's be honest, the Scoobies' photos didn't turn out great and the whole school-exploding-mayor's-a-giant-snake thing really put a dampener on the end of semester festivities.

Now's your chance to help create a brand new Whedonverse Yearbook featuring not only Buffy and her pals, but the folks from Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse too in this inter-dorm project and contest.

We're hoping that in creating this contest to combine creativity, art and writing that there'll be something for everyone to participate in.

Here's how it's going to work (AKA the rules):

-One show per dorm: the prefects will select a show for each dorm. This will be through a completely random draw.

Dorm members should work together to create:
-One page for the main character
-One page for secondary characters
-Spirit Week pages
-One RIP page
-Members will work individually to create the Yearbook cover "“ this will be an anonymous contest and will be voted for by poll. You must not show your cover to anyone "“ not even your fellow dorm members!

Character Pages
Create a page for your assigned show's main character including:
-Photos and pictures
-A poem
-A "˜remember when' section: either an event that took place on the show or one of your own creation told in first person anecdotal style.
-A superlative for that character (Most likely to"¦)
-One other item of your choosing.

Create a page for your assigned show's secondary characters. This can include anything you wish as long as it features some of the other characters.

Spirit Week Pages
Create Spirit Week pages for your show based on the following themes:
-Heroes Day
-Villains Day
-Romance Day
-Funny Costume Day
-Sticky Situation Day

RIP Pages
Create page for the characters who are gone but not forgotten. Canonically deceased by the end of your dorm's assigned show. It should include:
-Photos and pictures
-A written farewell to the characters you've chosen to include

Yearbook Cover
The cover should encompass all four Whedonverse shows and anything else of your choosing. It must have the title "“ Buffy Boards Whedonverse Yearbook: Class of 2011, but everything else is up to you!

The pages should be 500x600 in size.

You will have until 10th of May to create your pages "“ please submit them by PM to your dorm prefect.

Cover contest entries should be anonymous - no sharing with your fellow dorm members. This is because the winner will be chosen by member poll and we don't want cheating. Covers should also be submitted to your dorm prefect. These will be due by April 25th, 2011

We hope that you'll enjoy this project/contest and that the end result will be something amazing!

Dorm points will of course be awarded.

Okay, I'm a little confused. You drew the names out of a hat, but you didn't actually pair them with anything? It doesn't make sense to have a random draw if you're just putting them with whoever anyway! Bahaha. (I know that there wouldn't have actually been any foul play, just saying it makes no sense ya doofus)

They were paired up:

Raiden=Firefly
VH=Angel
Merrick=Buffy
Drogyn=Dollhouse

But they weren't. The names of the dorms weren't pulled out at random. The shows name were drawn, but whose to say that the selection of the actual dorms was random? It would have been random if you were drawing a show name and then a dorm name.

The way it has been done there was no proof that the list of dorms was put down in that order to begin with.

Does that make sense?

I'm totally not saying it was cheating!!! I definitely trust you guys and know you wouldn't do that by the way, just saying that the way it has been done does not prove that it was done at random.

Like for example, if I was drawing out for Drogyn I could have drawn the shows in that order and then just changed the order of the dorms.

I have a full time job, and in this job I work a lot of hours. This is the reason why I am on Buffy Boards most of the time - I am a travel agent and spend a lot of time on hold to wholesalers. I wish I had the time to spend while sitting at home, but unfortunately I don't!

I understand. But, I assure you, she did announce the dorm before drawing the show. I see nothing wrong with the draw. I listened to it with sound on my cell phone, cause I need a new sound card.
