Whedonverse Zombie faux pas?

This is just a minor thing I've been curious about.

As it was established by Giles early on in the Buffy series, the reanimated dead in the Whedonverse do not feast on human flesh.

Yet in Season 4 of the Angel series, in the episode where The Beast slaughters all of the W&H employees, the massacre victims all rise as zombies that seek to eat the flesh of the living.

Did I miss something there, or is this just another of those pesky writer continuity slip-ups?

Maybe it's different because they're W&H employees and their contracts continue past death?

I've always thought that there was a little something cannabalistic about lawyers and the people who worked for them. (Hope there's no lawyers here!)

Maybe the W&H zombies aren't real zombies like the ones in Dead Man's Party, maybe they're a species all of their own, unique to W&H or maybe I'm thinking about it too much and it's just an error in the writing:lmao:
