When Angel meets Buffy

You all have good points... but I still think it could be the fact that Angel hadn't ever actually had come within close range of Buffy and was suprised to see she was smaller than he had seen her from far away.. and maybe she couldnt sense he was a vampire cos he had a soul??? but other than that i am going with all of your opinions and theories...
 
The crew knew that angel was going to be with buffy. But it is true that some details are made up later but when angel is in any scene why worry about what he is saying just look at him he is a HOTTIE. thats good enough details for me!! 🙂

not at this time they didn't. as mentioned above by several people, myself included, at the time of Angel's first appearance, neither Joss or the rest of the writers figured on Angel sticking around for more than the first two episodes. which is why DB doesn't appeare in the opening credits in S1, and why a lot of the stuff he said in the opening two episodes doesn't add up to what we learn in later seasons.
 
I think like some of you have said Angel didn't want Buffy knowing he'd been stalking her what was he supposed to say. i'm here to help and by the way I've been stalking you for like a year now. I'm in love with you hope you don't mind? I think he wanted to distance himself from Buffy also cause we all know he didn't want to get close to Buffy because he didn't want to hurt her. Maybe trying to play the mysterious rude stranger was a way to try to insure that he did dinstance himself from Buffy. Just another thought to consider.
 
I don't agree. Angel's "Don't worry I don't bite" didn't tip Buffy off about his identity. It wasn't until later in the season that Buffy finds out who Angel really is.
 
Maybe he said that because he's just being slightly antagonistic towards her. He was such a pain and tried to be all elusive before they got to know each other a bit more.... so I think it was just a way to get her attention and slightly on edge
 
i mite not have watched that episode where you c 'trampy L.A Angel' as i call him seeing buffy become a slayer from his car then watch her in her bedroom well enuff because i neva real understood why he was doing it and how he knew she was going to b the slayer
 
That is weird because in one of the episodes in season 2 Angel was looking through the car window and he saw Buffy. So that means that he has seen her before. So they made a mistake in puting that in there.
 
Isn't that comment made toward Buffy a few times? Or am I losing my mind?
'Cause well, she's the slayer, the demon world expect her to be all buff in order to combat them. (Yes, I realize that the main majority of her strength is supernatural)

Isn't that the old M O of Angelus? Toy with and attempt to dominate/intimidate
the object of his attention? The Angel/Angelus personality isn't really very seperate in the method it employs to achieve its goal, whether it's to drive insane and sire Drusilla, or to "help" (she's gonna need a lot o' help, that Slayer) and assist in her sacred mission.

Is it just me or does that sound like he never saw her before? According to another later episode, he sees her become the slayer, so he should know of her and know what she looks like, right?

Oh yeah! Either an error in the script, or Angel just wanted Buffy to think that he hadn't been watching her.
