When are Buffy & Angel official?

When do you think is the moment that they become a couple in Season 2? Unofficially I would have to say when they are walking through the graveyard and Angel admits to being jealous of Xander. I thought that was really sweet scene. They arn't dating at this point tho as we find out in Reptile Boy that Angel is uncomfortable with the idea. I think its offical after the kiss in Halloween...
 
I'd like to say 'never' 😉 But I'd be lying.
I don't think they were ever 'official' as such in season 2, as she didn't even tell her Mum about him, but in tames of when they were really dating, it's say by the time she's properly back and he's over his jealousy spurge most people classed them as an item.
 
I would say they were officially official when they kissed at the end of Halloween. The whole thing was very datey and also their coversation is very much of two people who have just started to date. In fairness though they had been dancing around each other since the WTTH.
 
i'd say in the end of "reptile boy" when angel finally asks her for coffee. or perhaps the jealous-of-xander talk in the graveyard.
 
No cos at the end of the episode they are just like 'see you around' and Angel avoids her until PG when Buffy catches him talking with Giles about her fate!

I have no idea when they started "dating." I don't even know what the criteria are. I mean, it's not like they ever did dinner and a movie.

You know, I kind of like that this is hard to pin down. Real relationships develop over time rather than having an exact date on which the couple became classed as a couple. I think it is a testament to the team's writing skill that Bangel, one of the most emotionally charged and dramatic relationships of the entire series, still progressed in a somewhat natural, ill-defined sort of manner.
 
The earliest I can remember when Buffy refers to him as her boyfriend is in WML. I'm a little fuzzy so I could be wrong.
 
Going back to my B/A shipper domain, I honestly have to say I don't care about when they first got together, I just want them back together 😉

I agree with you on this one. I too loved that seen in the graveyard.
 
I think that graveyard thing is the first time they consider eachother has actual boyfriend/girlfriend material. But it would be official when Angel asked Buffy to drink coffee with him. Or at least, from then on, they're officially dating (or trying to) anyway
 
I always felt they were officially 'going out' starting with the graveyard scene (end of Some Assembly Required). Although not the greatest episode, the best parts to me were the Buffy & Angel scenes.

It sort of plays into the way Angel is like part of the gang when telling them about Spike the next episode, and Buffy's 'surroundsound' dreams for the next.

Their first date would be the unseen coffee get-together.
