When Buffy Closed Her Mother's Skirt in The Body

Didn't anybody just find this very respectful from Buffy? When the ambulance was parking into her house Buffy noticed that Joyce's skirt in between her legs was showing. I thought that was sort of sweet & respectful of Buffy.

Sorry for the weird post I just noticed this, I remember Joss saying he liked when Buffy did that as well.

I don't think in her mind she realized she was being respectful, but I agree with you that it was sweet of her. She was in shock at the time (she was for half of the episode) and I guess she just made the connection that it would be guys coming and they couldn't see Joyce like that. After all Joyce was a respectable woman. And with that little gesture, Buffy made sure her mother remained respectable through her last "chance" of living.

I think it's a dignity thing. Strangers are going to be coming in to her home and removing her body. Grief, shock and panic often (for me at least) focus the mind on what seems like the most trivial things, and although the EMTs were never going to look up her mother's skirt, it was probably important to Buffy in that moment that they didn't even have reason to try.
