When did Angel get cursed?

Are they consistent about when it happened? He just said something in season 3 about seeing this ballet company in the 1890s when he was evil. Who remembers when he got ensouled?

1898, and they mentioned it in Becoming Part 1, and indiretly in the Angel episode Darla.
Now, what they weren't consistend about I think is the year when Spike was sired.

Spike was sired in 1880 and I think that was never contradicted with another year but they were inconsistent about Spike's age. Giles says in "School Hard" that Spike is "barely 200" years old which obviously doesn't fit with his siring year and in one season 4 episode Spike states he is 126. Someone else can do the math 😉

The year is definitely shown in "Fool for Love" and I think I remember a flashback in an Angel episode where it was also mentioned (or a flashback to the same year? Or something.) but I don't know which.

^^ I'm pretty sure Giles says ''he's barely 100'' in School hard. The only inconsistent thing for Spikes age was in The Initiative, when he says he's 126, when he's actually 119 in vamp years. I wonder why the writers didnt just make Spikes sire year 1873 so it fit with what he said. 🙂

He already had his soul in 1900 when they were in China during the Boxer Rebellion, so 1898 would be about right, though I missed the reference to the exact date.

Yup, 1898, they referenced it in the episode 'Darla', if I'm not mistaken.
