When did Cordelia lose her virginity?

Okay, we started discussing this in some other thread some time but nothing really came from it.
And I still wana know.
When did Cordelia lose her virginity? With the other high school Scoobies it was always kind of clear, but not with Cordy.
Some have argued it was pre Xander (because of a comment in 'Bad Eggs'), which then leads to question why she never slept with Xander. Other say it was with that rich guy who mystically knocked her up but that seems so late.
So what's your opinion on this?

I wouldn't be surprised if Xander was her first, and anything that she might have said to the contrary was just her trying to sound all cool and worldly. Certainly Xander was the first steady boyfriend she seems to have ever had, and their relationship was at the very least passionate. In fact, it was, with the exception of Buffy and Spike in Season 6, they were arguably the most graphically passionate couple on the show. (Granted, Anya talked a lot about her orgasms, but nothing was ever shown)

^ But Xander lost his virginity to Faith--after he and Cordy broke up. So it seems pretty obvious that Cordy never slept with him.

I think that "that rich guy" was her first. So what if it was late? She'd probably just not gotten around to it yet. I lost mine VERY late, compared to the people in my neighborhood (who had kids at 16). I don't see why it COULDN'T have been what's-his-face just because she was 19-ish instead of 16-ish.

^ I think Xander made it clear that he and Cordy had never comshucked. When he and Faith hooked up, Xander said he'd never been "up with people" before and Faith said something about "guiding him around the curves." Later on, Xander stopped to marvel about how he'd actually had sex. The dialogue in that episode led me to believe that Xander had been a virgin prior to his hookup with Faith, so that would mean that he and Cordy never comshucked whilst dating.

Of course, there was Cordy's very confusing line about being in the car to do the thing she could never tell her dad about because he still thinks she's a good girl. I was surprised by The Zeppo because, honestly, up until that episode, I just sort of figured that Xander and Cordy were doing more than kissing in those supply closets.

So I guess the answer is that we don't know when Cordy lost her virginity. I guess it wasn't relevant to the plot, so it didn't get included. That's better than a lot of teen soaps, in which losing one's virginity IS the plot. lol. We saw it with Buffy because, hello, we got evil Angel as a result. We saw it with Xander because it was funny and because it set up some future character development. I don't remember seeing it with Willow. Instead, I remember Oz refusing her -- again, for character development purposes. If Cordy's first time didn't happen with any of our other main characters or have any bearing on the plot, then I'm not sure why it would be important for us to witness it.

Blondie, the only reason I don't think it was with that rich guy is because she seemed so comfortable and confident about it until the pregnancy, at which point she insisted that everything had been very "normal." She sounded like someone who had a yard stick by which to measure what was normal and what was abnormal enough to result in weirdo-demon pregnancy.

Charisma Carpenter said on the Chosen Collection extras that she had the same confusion over when Cordy lost her virginity. So when they were filming Buffy she actually asked one of the writers as regards to this and I believe it was...David Fury who told her 'Oh Cordelia definitely already knows her way around' which shocked Charisma so much. She was apparently like 'Oh my god!'. So I guess we can presume Cordelia lost her virginity pre-Xander....but never actually got that far with him ironically. Maybe because it did become a serious relationship and that combined with the fact he was a virgin meant they took things slowly.

Hmm... I was wondering the same thing. I don't think she lost it to any of the Scoobies/AI... So...:
It wasn't Xander. We can rule that out.

I think it was some rich dude or a "senior with a car" before she hit it off with Xander. But it could've been with that guy that gave her a demon baby... I don't think it was him though, because she seemed like she was smart enough to realize that losing your virginity to this guy would be stupid. Sure, she wasn't the most mentally stable, but I think she's smart enough to figure that out. So my vote goes to some guy before her and Xander hooked up.

^^ I can see that being the case. Something similar happened to me, once. All I wanted was a fling, but the guy had actual feelings brewing and was a virgin to boot, so I didn't want to push things and give him the wrong idea. I mean, I tried once, but he acted all weird, so I backed off. Seemed like it would have been cruel to lead him on or something. So I dated him. Of course, then he went out and, while I was mourning my dead grandfather, found a substitute who looked like me, had my name, and was drunk, so... perhaps I should not have been so concerned with his feelings.


Hmm... this is probably how Cordy feels about Xander, huh? lol. She finally decided to turn down the bitchometer for Xander's case because there might be something real there, then he goes and gets all kissy face with Willow while Cordy is busy being impaled. Men! lol. Fortunately, my story ended more happily than did Cordy's. I moved on and married Mr. Wonderful, whereas poor Cordy moved on into the land of Freudian ickiness and died.

Well, the car thing could be a simple 2nd base or 3rd base and not the big home-run.

My guess: sometime after she left Sunnydale and possibly before the first episode of Angel, or shortly thereafter.
The allusion to the casting couch method of Hollywood is overtly given in that episode; which she was willing to comply with out of desperation. Her dating choices were methods of advancing her status in either fame or money. It wasn't until she gained the visions that her focus changed.

I always assumed she had lost it around Season 1 of Buffy. She's always seemed really comfortable with sex.

That comment Mitch? makes about "It's not her arm I plan on being on." (Out of Sight, Out of Mind)
She's always got some boyfriend pre Xander (Devon, the guy who died in Prophecy Girl).
She dates older men.
That comment about the car in "Bad Eggs."
Xander makes various comments about her dressing slutty.
She seems quite comfortable going to Russell Winters' house late at night in "City Of"
She tells Doyle and Angel not to wait up in "The Bachelor Party."
She seems comfortable inviting Wilson in her house in "Expecting"
She suggests she might be willing to prostitute herself to David Nabbitt in "War Zone"

I never understood why she didn't sleep with Xander but I thought it might be because she had apprehensions about committing herself to someone who wasn't in the cool crowd (thus worsening her popularity status, although she is dating him openly by the end of Season 2) It never made sense to me and I don't think Xander was that eager to hold on to his virginity (like Willow might have been) so I don't think that should be a factor.

I always found it funny that Cordelia is the ONLY scoobie whose first time we dont see.

But ya I think she lost her virginity during her freshman year or sophmore year with whatever boyfriend she was dating. Maybe Devon?

While I dont think the charecter was "easy" it wasnt something that was that important to her.

And I doubt all Cander did was smooch. Theres a lot more to do then just have sex in a car.... But I think the reason why they didnt have sex is because Xander wasnt the type of guy to (I think) go that far without them expressing it somehow and Cordelia liked that and didnt want their relationship to get any more complicated by adding sex to the equation.

Oh and on a side note: I also find it funny that Cordelia is the last one to know about Angel being a vampire.

Well, this has always been a question for me too. I think we will never know exacly.
We know that she didn't do it with Xander because his first was with Faith and when she's with Wilson in Expecting she says: You're the first person I've had over in a long... well, - ever so her first could have been with him, even if it was this late.
But it also could have been B.X. (before Xander lol) since she had so many boyfriends.
