When did Joyce find out that Angel was a vampire?

Joyce first met Angel when Buffy brought him in when they escaped from "The Three". Buffy told her mom that Angel was a college student who helped her with her school work. And that's what Angel was for Joyce.

In seasn 2, when Angel turned evil and Buffy was afraid he would go after her mother, she tells her that her and Angel were involved.

Jumping forward, Joyce finds out Buffy slept with Angel.

Jumping forward again, and Joyce already knows that Buffy is a Slayer, and there are real vampires out there. So I assume Joyce already knows by then that Angel is a vampire.

When did she find out about it? Am I missing something?
And I'm guessing she knows he's good and has a soul.

I'm guessing Giles told her about him during the Summer Buffy ran away. Buffy never speaks about it to her mother.

Yeah I'd have thought either Giles told her or she worked it out somehow.

I think Giles must have told her. She probably wanted to know all about him after figuring out he slept with her runaway daughter.

I agree with the general consensus; it seems likely that Giles told her. I don't think Buffy and Joyce talked about Buffy's love life very often.

An alternative if Giles didn't told Joyce: I always imagined that Buffy and Joyce at some point had a sit-down talk about all the things that had been happening in Sunnydale that Buffy lied about. Later in the series (I think it was "Fear Itself" but I could be wrong!) Joyce mentions her last boyfriend was a homicidal robot so that means at some point Buffy (or it could have been Giles) told her. I always assumed it was Buffy who told her mom about Angel and all that stuff. I think Giles would have only told Joyce what he needed to or what she made him, I think Giles would have felt it was more of Buffy's place to tell her mom about Angel and whatever else she wanted to.

I think I just assumed that Joyce put two and two together and figured out that he never really existed in the daytime lol.

On a side note, do we know for certain that Joyce knew for certain Angel was a vampire? ( I'm sure we do lol but I'm having a blonde moment and not able to remember right now lol)
