When did they reveal the name Liam?

Question to all you knowledgeable folks out there, when was it revealed that Angel's human name was "Liam"? Was it in season 2 or later? I can't recall.

I'm asking because I've now read the novelization of "City of..." as well as "Not forgotten" and they both include flashbacks to Galway, when Angel was still human, yet the authors dub him Angelus throughout this human period (it is particularly irritating in Not Forgotten as it also mentions that "two weeks later he became Angelus, the one with the angelic face..." which doesn't really work when you've already called him Angelus for eight pages.)

But these books were released in 2000, which is quite early in terms of the shows, so maybe it hadn't been 'revealed' yet that Liam was his name? Can anyone remember when it was first mentioned?

I'm wondering if it is that the author's didn't know yet (Nancy Holder is otherwise very well versed in the Buffyverse) or if it's that they didn't think the readers would get it if they switched between Liam and Angel/Angelus.

I think it's in Becoming Part 1?

My guess would be The Prodigal, that's a flashback heavy episode with Angel human. Plus came out in 2000.

I thought Becoming 1 too, but can't recall when in the ep.

Maybe it is The Prodigal when we see his grave and get more of that backstory, that makes sense. These were probably written before that episode came out.

Then I'll try not to be as annoyed by it, lol, cause then the authors have a valid reason. It's so easy to forget that we didn't always know that.
