I first started watching Buffy when I was a kid. It was one of those shows that I enjoyed watching if nothing else was on and I was bored. I honestly don't remember what was the first episode I watched. Anyways, I officially became a fan when YTV had premiered season 6. So I was like 10 or 11 when I became a fan of the show. Anyways, I became a big fan of the show and started buying the DVDs. I had no idea there was a spin-off show of Angel. I found out in recent years, I know pathetic LOL, and I found out when a later episode of Angel was on tv. Since then I became an Angel fan as well. The rest they say is history. What is your story?

My story , lets see....
i was probably about 11 or maybe 10 when i saw my first buffy, i dont remember which episode or season it was either, but what i do remember is that i was just surfing the channels and when i got to the channel it was on the first thing i saw was this blond girl kicking this guys but at night in a grave yard, She put a stake though the guys chest and then....POOF, the guy turned to dust and i was like " This show is so cool" and i watched what was rest of that ep and got lucky cause there was another back to back ep. and since then ive been watching it,

and to put in my own story about not knowing something related to btvs, before i became a fan or even new about the show i use to have a watch and on the face of the watch it had a blond girl wth her leg raised as if kicking and right next to her foot were 4 words and guess what they were...Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and when i finally remembered i had that watched was like 2 or 3 years after i started watching it.

I became a fan during the 92 movie (I was 7) because for as long as I can remember I've always been fascinating and loved vampires, so because she was Buffy the Vampire Slayer I decided to tune in cause I saw the word vampire. I watched it I actually enjoyed the movie, but in retrospect I think the movie sucks. 4 years later on March 10, 1996 (I was 10 about to be 11 in September) I watched the television show cause of course I heard it was coming to WB and I was excited and I've been hooked since then.

I copied and pasted this from a similar thread:

I've been a fan of Buffy ever since I seen the movie when I was 6 years old. I was young and I loved the idea of a girl fighting vampires (Also because I had a crush on Kristy Swanson.) Then a few years later, I heard that they had made a Buffy the Vampire Slayer show and that it was gonna start in like a week so I got super excited. I watched the pilot and I really liked it but for some reason I didn't watch it anymore until the season three episode "The Wish." The first scene I saw was the one where Buffy is talking to Cordelia in the alley and I felt really bad for Cordy even though I had no idea what was going on. I saw that ep but again, I didn't watch regularly. I started watching it officially for the episode "Graduation Day part 2." Then when Angel and Buffy Season 4 started, I never missed an episode. I also remember the Buffy finale aired on my birthday, we had company over. I missed everything except for the part where Buffy tells Spike she loves him up until the end.

I became a fan when i was little and i saw for the first time the episode The Initiative, i loved it but i couldn't follow the show . And one day i turn the tv on and Tabula Rasa was on air. Since that day i've been really interested in the show and i never lost an ep.

Six or seven years ago, dont really remember to be honest. I remember watching season five and six on tv, I'm pretty sure they were reruns though.

Buying season one was my first Buffy experience, watched it endlessly. I even have the older box set of it, you know the one that folds out not the slim case one. Then I stopped watching Buffy for some reason, I didn't follow the show for a couple of years. Three at least. Then one day about a year ago I decided to buy season four and that rekindle my interest. Now I'm obsessed.

I first began watching Buffy back in 1999 or possibly 2000 - in any event I was coming to the end of Year Six and although I cannot recall the specifics, when I think back to that period I have this memory of a Thursday summer's evening (it all started with the BBC2, 18:30 airings), living room curtains pulled across to shade me from the sun. I'm watching Maloch being obliterated by an electrical surge courtesy of Buffy in Season One's I Robot, You Jane. There's also the memory of Darla and Angel's face-off in the episode Angel. So that is when I began watching it, and my good mate Rob was also really into it. We'd discuss it, someone made us some stakes once, I wrote a few scripts of it for fun, it was that kinda thing.

Then came secondary school and for the first year or two we still enjoyed it, keeping up with the series on TV and then - a lot like bucky, weirdly enough - I lost interest. Sure, I occasionally returned to it (I bought the Chaos Bleeds game when it came out on Gamecube) but more or less I was focussed on other things.

It was only just over a year ago that I got back into it. I was in CEX, I had an exchange voucher kicking about in my pocket and I noticed Buffy Season Four up on one of the shelves. Recalling that this was one of the series I hadn’t seen I bought it and BAM - from then on I was hooked. Angel followed soon after (I’d caught some of the episodes when they first aired on Terrestrial TV a few years back) and now, in one form or another, I have all of the boxsets and loads of related merchandise stuff. Mostly in the form of books.

That was when I would say I became a proper fan. It doesn’t sound very exciting I know, but I have a lot of fond memories wrapped up with the show(s)... you all know how it is 🙂.

I was about 10 when I started watching the show, which was from the first episode. I became a fan during season 2 I guess. But I became real obsessed with the show after watching Becoming part 2, after Buffy killed Angel. I took it hard. I remember watching it and crying, then my mum called me from the dining room because the dinner was ready. But I coulnd't eat because I was too upset.

Anyway, from this point, I went online and searched for any information about the show. This is the first time I really knew the names of the cast. I became obssesed till today. Most of my thoughts are about the show (and especially Spike, if you must know). And I gotta say, Buffy is the best experience of my life. I grew up with it. It makes me happy. It's who I am. Okay, now I sound like a soap opera lol. Anyway, now I have many merchandise, all the DVD's (twice, don't laugh at me, I want Buffy to stay with me even when I'm 60).

"I grew up with it. It makes me happy. It's who I am" - absolutely agree!
Late 1997, when the first season aired with little fanfare on Channel 7 in Australia. I knew the movie (but thought it was rubbish) and at this point not even the genre magazines had given it any coverage. I wasn't expecting much, so taped the first ep to watch later. I watched it the next afternoon, and instantly liked it. I liked all the characters straight away (especially lickle Willow lol).

By The Puppet Show I was a rabid fan, and have been ever since.

I became a super fan in 2005. I was catching re-runs of season 7 which I had no idea existed. I originally watched Buffy season 6 and as stated before, thought it was the last season. Never gave it a second look. And it didn't really grab me the first time, but in 2005, that was it. I was hooked beyond hookness.

I got hooked on Angel after watching Buffy 3 times through.

Obsession...

I became a BtVS fan when I found out that Seth Green was on the show. I know, I know cheesy. I have always loved Seth Green so when I heard that he was on the show I tuned in. I have loved the show ever since.

Hmm here's my story, which I've repeated many times before:

I never really liked the show...when I was younger my local FOX affiliate aired it on the weekends, I saw bits and pieces of it and thought it looked horrible...but then one weekend they showed the movie, and of course since I was young and stupid I loved it way more than the show. Every once and a while out of boredom I'd try to watch but I just couldn't get into it.

A few years later we got cable and every now and then I would try to watch it on FX. Meanwhile, TNT was airing reruns every day after school of "Angel" and "Charmed". I got into Angel big time and loved it, and then I got my mom into it sort of but she didn't get to see it very often (she saw the Pylea eps and liked em, and the Jasmine eps). I watched Charmed because even though it was stupid...I used to have a thing for Alyssa Milano.

Anyway, since I liked "Angel" so much I kept giving "Buffy" a try, and one day when I was home sick from school there just happened to be a "Buffy" marathon on, and I watched it...I don't remember what episode it was but suddenly something clicked and I just became really attached...I "got" the show and it's wacky tone and the characters and the humor...and now I love both shows.

I'm really glad I got into "Buffy" though.

My story is kinda lame... And now I hope I'm telling it and remembering it right cause I became a fan like five years ago and my memory ain't all that good.

I've known about BtVS ever since they started airing it on Swedish television, but they showed it on really crappy hours and I had this silly impression of the show that it was really lame and bad. So I never tuned in, well I watched one or two episodes from season 2 but I didn't get them (there was a vampire in a wheelchair and stuff... so confusing lol). Apparently TV4 (which was airing the show) put BtVS on hiatus after season 2 and aired season 3 some years later, still on crappy hours like 22.30 or 23.30. One night, being up late although I had to work the next day as always, I was channel-surifing and when I flipped on TV4 I saw one of the HOTTEST girls I had ever seen in my life, fighting a deamon. And I was like, WHOA WHAT WAS THAT? It was episode "The Zeppo" and it was Faith fighting The Sisterhood of Jhe. I was totally bedazzled by Eliza Dushkus's hottness so I tuned in to next episode as well, and ended up watching the rest of season 3. I then also realized that they were airing season 7 in the US so I had to really hurry to catch up with the other seasons so I could watch the end of s7 as it was airing, which was basically what got me totally hooked on the show.

Huh, well, my story is...boring 😛

The guy I fancied used to be obsessed with Buffy [I no longer fancy him and he's no longer obsessed...i think I put him out of his fandom 😛], but I always thought it was a stupid pointless show. Last year [8th of September - I'm sad enough to know the date 😛] I was off school ill and I couldn't find anything on the TV, I flicked through some channels and came across Buffy on Sky1, I decided to watch it, because the guy I liked loved it, and I knew we could talk about it. So anyway, The Puppet Show was on, and I watched it and I was like 'Wow, this is really good!' then I started to watch it everyday and became hooked 😛

I think it's fate 😛 If I wasn't ill that day, I would never have seen Buffy 😉

Wow. You're still a newbie fan. That's good to know there are still new fans 4 years after the show ended.

I've been watching the show over a year, not that much of a newbie 😛

I've always been interested by the supernatural. The name vampires caught my attention from the beginning, so I watched the show, from the 1st episode. It was different from the English Hammer films. I never really liked the film much, still don't. The only time I missed any episodes was when I was locked up in hospital rehabilitation. But the DVDs corrected that.

when i became a fan........

my wife requested season 1 for christmas '06. after she got it, i was like, "oh, crap, i have to watch this?"

its funny to look back and think that i wasnt even going to give the show a chance because it has now become one of my favorite shows. i have now seen every episode twice, bought every copy of season 8, bought all omnibus comics to date, joined the 'buffy boards' ;-) , and bought the chosen collection dvd set!..........i even bought a maroon "sunnydale razorbacks" shirt from ebay.

needless to say, i am a fan.

I was a fan before I'd even seen the show. I heard all about it saw the trailers, heard general story lines etc however couldnt watch it as at the time I didnt have control over the remote at the time so couldn't watch it. Started watching mid season 2 when i found out bbc 2 repeated it at daft o clock in the morning. So i first started watching the show in 1999 but was a sort of fan in 1998/9

Always the Buffy fan.

I've been a huge fan of the show since it first aired in 1997; I was in grade 5 (10 years old). I'm nearly 21 now and I still watch it everyday (thank God for the dvds)... Buffy fan 'till the very end... and even beyond that lol. "Grr Arrgh"
