When did you figure out the truth?

What? H-how could you say something like that? Oh, I get it. This is a joke ... a big, fat ... hairy joke! Right? I mean ... Santa exists! I mean, he's at the mall every year! What better proof is that?!

Seriously though, I figured it out myself when I was 10. I had my doubts before that, but what really did it was when I found the letter I wrote to Santa crumpled up under my parent's bed. They later confirmed that I was right. 😀

I was like ten and on Christmas day my older brother told me. I was so embaressed at how niave I was. And I was so mad at my parents for lying to me. My sister is ten this year and I wonder if I should tell her to continure the tradition. He he he...

I was a classic victim of an evil bully. Some older kid told me when I was about five... Kinda sad really.

Btw, i knew he wasnt real!i found out when i was like 10, but dis-believed around age 7 or 8...

lol...cool thread....

don't really remember....i think i always knew that my grandma got me presents..

I don't really remember, but I didn't believe all that stories'Santa left this for you' etc.I think that when I was 8 I told my parents I knew he didn't exist....

5th grade....whatever age that would be...but I found out because "the toothfairy" hadn't come for 3 days and I walked into the bathroom where my mom was doing her makeup, getting ready for work, and said "Mom, the toothfairy didn't come again" and she says "Oh s***! I forgot!" and yeah, that's how I found out, lol

When my brother was filling in holes in the yard and he told me he killed and buried Santa...

Nah, actually my brother was DIGGING holes and he said he was going to trap the Easter bunny. I flipped out on him. But as far as Santa goes...I just realized that santas handwriting was an awful lot like my moms. But you get more presents if you believe in him...so I wasn't going to say anything...

I think I was in the fourth grade or so. My parent's door was shut and me being the nosy me that I am, opened it and saw a grey pound puppie all boxed up. I was really excited thinking I would be getting it for Christmas. Well, I did get it for Christmas. Except that it came from Santa. I would of kept believing for awhile longer I'm sure, had I not seen that!

At least I don't have anybody else to blame except for myself! 🙂

I do not remember at all 🙁 I want to know but I cannot, bugger it!

Amen to that! I started to get suspicious when I was 7 or 8 and I realized that Santa's wrapping paper was always just like my mom's ...hmmm

I'm not sure if I've ever actually believed that Santa Claus exists. But if I have believed him I think that when I stopped believing was after my parents divorced when I was four years old. Because my father was always playing Santa and after they divorced I think that Santa stopped coming to our house... But I'm not sure because I can't remember, maybe I should ask from my mom.

I've always known he wasnt real, it was too damned obvious with that fake mask and all that. I couldn't believe how stupid the other kids were when I was like 1 or 2 and ripped off Santas "mask" and "beard". 😀 😀

I guess I wasn't the sharpest little tool in the box. I took my mom's word that sometimes Santa ran out of wrapping paper so he had to borrow some of ours! I found out when I was in 5th grade. I just couldn't sleep, so I heard my parents downstairs being really loud. "Honey, come help me wrap the presents!" My parents didn't find out that I knew until after christmas was over, which explained why I was so mopey and cranky. It was quite a tragic experience for me. 😉
