When did you know you loved Spuffy?

I'm not sure I can say when. I watched the show when it originally aired, which means that when Chosen was on TV and the show was over, I was 15. So it was probably only on rewatches that I became a shipper and by then I already knew that the relationship existed. But, that being said, probably sometime in S5 for me, too, maybe around Intervention and that sweet ending.
 
As soon as I saw Spike in School Hard I thought he was hot, and I adore that early evil-Spike character. I loved the chemistry he had with Buffy in S2, especially when they declared a truce and had to work together. But it was only in S4 that I began to ship them and thought they really should get together. I remember watching Out of My Mind and being so happy that Spike was in love with Buffy, even though he was devestated. It seemed a long time coming 😀

Well I loved Spike the moment he was on screen and the dynamic between him and Buffy was excellent from the get-go. There was just undeniable chemistry when they were on screen together I think. I can't honestly remember if I was rooting for a relationship to develop in those early seasons (S2/S4), but I really liked their interactions and energy. Seeing real potential for them as a couple probably did start in S5 I guess, but I *loved* where S6 took the relationship from that potential and that the show didn't shy away from raising the issues in him being soulless and then moved them forwards from there. My strength of love for them as a couple really did solidify from that complete progress and where they got to together, what they gave each other.
 
I've always loved Spike since he first appeared in the show and he quickly became my favourite character. I remember jumping up and down for joy when he came back in season 4.
As for Spuffy, I think maybe Something Blue - it's one of my all time favourites and you could really feel their chemistry in season 4. It was there a bit in season 2 but I definately think season 4 was on fire.

That was a great scene too! I loved it so much.
Spuffy did have nice chemistry in S2 but I didn't think they should get together till S5.

I totally agree! With all of these points. Buffy and Spike had great communication and passion! That's why they work so well together. Their chemistry is undeniable. They are an amazing force and I think they're just great.

I loved Something Blue today but Buffy's time was so consumed w/Riley I didn't really think of it at the time which is why I shipped them super hard starting Season 5.
 
I knew I loved Spike and Buffy as a team in Becoming; that worked so perfectly, I knew I wanted Spuffy to be a thing after Something Blue and definitely after Who Are You, and I started loving them after Fool for Love and was dying for them to get together for the rest of season 5 and on.
 
I can't say for sure when, because I didn't watch the show in order when I was a kid, but watching it now, I really love them when Spike shows that he has a genuine tenderness for her, despite the demon.

I enjoy watching them in general (I mean, Spike's so hot lol), but when Spike shows his softer side (protecting Dawn in S5, his speech in Afterlife, their moment together in Hell's Bells after Buffy ended their affair) that's when I really love them as a couple. So, when S7 roles around and Spike is truly able to step into that role as someone who can truly love selflessly, it makes it all the better!
 
When Spike was introduced in the show my first thought was "he is too hot to be a villain" but then I read the spoilers by mistake that he is gonna be love interest I wish I had not read those spoilers I try to keep away from spoilers till I watch the complete show and I would have enjoyed the surprise and the longing that "I want these two together" if it was nt for the spoiler but anyways back to the topic I was team Spike from season 02, and their truce was hilarious and the chemistry was so unique but I started hardcore shipping them after something blue, that one is still my most favorite Buffy episode

I think he did in season 2... he just didn't understand it. Plus you know, evil monster idea of love is different than human.
