When Dru killed Kendra...

I would have to go with the contempt angle as well.

Feeding from a defeated Slayer is a victory celebration.
Discarding them without "use" is a blatant insult on how easy there were to defeat.

Plus... bonus reputation points in the vamp community.

I agree - pretty much every reason mentioned is valid. I think that when you're talking about Dru, especially, all bets are off. I always saw it as a similar situation to Angelus snapping Jenny's neck instead of feeding - as an insult. A sort of - "I've got bigger and better things to do, yeah - I'll kill you, but I just can't be bothered to feed."

i was thinking of the jenny death too, didnt he see killing as an art "without that we're just animals"?

Yeah, I remember Angelus saying that at one point. I think he totally made up for the "lackluster" killing with the set-up and presentation for Giles, though - I think in that case - that was the art of it.

awwww now you've reminded me of Giles finding her body (and that was as you say what it was all about with Jennys death) i had always wondered why Giles hadnt been taken in for questioning.

I don't know. It's been quite a few years since I've seen "Becoming". The thing is that I've always been disappointed by that episode. It seemed to promise more than it delivered.
