Personally I didn't see much chemistry in the clip but perhaps on stage they had some. I'm not a big fan of the movie though, have only seen it once many years ago, so I can't say if the dialogue is supposed to feel that stilted. But anyway, funny the things you discover when you're just surfing around the net.

Did anybody here see this in London?

That was okay- I think Luke was a bit more stilted that Alyson- and yes, the dialogue had that ring of familiarity to it. I think I remember it from the film.

I'm actullay not a big fan of the movie either. I watched it once voluntarily ages ago and then have been forced to sit through it three more times by people who 'haven't seen it but it's supposed to be a classic!' Ugh. 🙁

For me Meg Ryan was just meh in the movie, and Billy Crystal has this irritating quality to his humour that I could never get past. Like Woody Allen.

I would actually like to see if two diffent actors could make it a different experience- so I'd be interested to see if anyone saw this.

...okay, one of my primary interests would be to see 'Alyson' do her version of that scene...😀

With the exception of Joe Versus the Volcano most of Meg Ryan's movies during that time were HIGHLY overrated. And I can see Molly Ringwald as Sally before I could see Hannigan.

I've liked Meg in other films, and Billy Crystal...in one other film. Other than that, it's just a hugely over-rated 'comedy'.

What other film? I like him, but it is all about the casting as sometimes he comes off more like a stand up comic than a comic actor. Like his work hosting the oscars.

Ringwald is a pretty good shout. As much as I rate Hannigan I'm not sure if she would be right for the part or not.

Ryan got typecast is all. Like her in the likes of Sleepless in Seattle, Innerspace and more recently In the Cut.
