When the Buffy remake is released will you go see it?

I'll have to go see it. Better to regret something you did than something you didn't do, right?

I don't have high hopes, however. Not at all. I kind of hope the project falls through before it makes it into theatres.
 
I may not like it, but I will absolutely see it. 🙂

I think it could be good, but if not, at least I satisfied my curiosity. 🙂

I'm with ya, I was think Mila myself, but I think they are going to go for a really young/unknown cast. Mila would be one of my ideal picks though to take up SMG's mantle.

Why go for that when you can go for a BIG NAME, in fact, one of the biggest names on CBS, and Favorite TV Comedy Actress 2009... Aly... OH WAIT, she said NO.

Ah, and here I was, looking for more comedy.

How about nominee for the above award... Tina Fey... hm... I think that should be OK.

One of Joss's biggest problems when he makes statements, commentaries or interviews is that people rarely agree on when he's serious, jokes or hides his feelings in jokes. I've read that note. You got your view on it and mine clearly differs from that. And none will be able to prove that they're right. So to each to their own.

Not that I think that Joss is loving the idea of the movie. I just think that people way too often see his words as being his exact feelings/thoughts.

I have never known Joss Whedon NOT to be serious.. remaking the movie clearly devastated him. (see, when you read sarcasm it is often difficult to tell if one is serious or not)
If the theaters in my town show it, I think I'll go. But since I live in Germany I'll have to watch it in English, too.
The dubbing really destroys parts of the movie and I want to see how it really is.

But I can say that it just CAN'T be nearly as good as the show.
Not only because of the fact that Joss isn't involved, but also because I can't imagine what kind of movie could beat such a phenomenal TV series.
Can you?😕
 
I will go and see it, but not because I expect to enjoy it, because to be honest, I'm pretty sure that Buffy will flop out completely without Joss as the genius behind it. Regardless, I'll see it, mostly to sit, compare and constantly comment to my friends that 'This would be better if Joss wrote it'. I'll be surprised if I even remotely enjoy it, considering Joss isn't a part of it, but I'll still go and see it, whether to be pleasantly surprised or to simply sit and wonder why on earth a remake was created without Joss, in the first place.

The more people who were involved with the original series who come out against it, the more I start thinking that any new film has a right to be seen on its own merits.

Trouble is, it won't have seven years of character development or actors getting to know their characters inside out and growing with them. The best it can really do is to kickstart a movie franchise...which probablly means a film every two years and the new Buffy being well into her twenties with only a couple of stories told.

I would rather have a film every two years than a monthly comic book running two years. And a film could be larger in scope than a television series ever could be... I would not want a feature film of the TV series, as, like the comics, it would feel flat.

Thats the problem I had with Sex & the City movies.. as much as I liked the series, it was just hard for me to see it as a movie, and thus far, I have not.
