When the uber vamps tie Faith down in "Chosen"

Did Joss have plans for Faith to die? Cause there was no way she couldn't had fought those guys back with them tying her down like that

I dont think Joss had plans for Faith to die, in one of the commentaries he confirms that he was planning a spin off series for her and Spike.

I think it was just to show how overwhelming the odds were, to really give the 'good guys' a dire situation that the viewer would have to go "ooh, who's gonna make it out??" and worry.

It made the hero moments bigger when they came (eg Fatih kick all of those guys off) so I say pure plot device (brilliant one often used) to make the final battle a challenge even if it ends up as a win.

Agreed! In seasons 6 and 7 epsecially, Joss and the writers had everything get so desperate for the scoobies before they managed to somehow survive and this was another example of stacking the odds.

I agree with everyone else 🙂 Joss was trying to get the audience to go oh no who's gonna make it through alive? Is Faith going to die? He was building up attention and he most likey tried to show us that they weak but once Buffy could carry on so could everyone else so Faith killed them like the others did 🙂

As much as I love Spike with Buffy, I've always thought that Spike and Faith would make a truly awesome couple, whether fighting demons or raising a little whoopee. Or both.

I literally watched Chosen yesterday and I missed this. How . . . but to answer the question, like has been said, Joss was considering the possibility of a Faith spin-off series. Hey, maybe there were plans for her to be in Angel S6? But this was probably just to taunt us. I mean Anya, Spike, some potentials died in this episode. Wood had a gotcha moment. It was just Joss being evil teasing us.
