When we thought Angelus was back in "Enemies"

Did you have a freak out? Or did you knew Angel and Buffy were playing Faith the whole time?
 
I definitely didn't think that Angel had turned. It felt too off, like he was faking it the whole time. That being said, even though I had a pretty good idea Angel didn't turn, I had no idea him and Buffy planned the entire thing. The "Second best", and "May I say something? Psyche!" was excellent. But the best part about that whole thing was the fact that that creepy magic guy was in on it as well, and that Giles introduced him to his wife. I thought that was too cool for school. 🙂
 
I thought Angelus was back... I was so sad and shocked for Buffy, but also really turned on by the idea of Faith and Angelus. 😉
When Faith said "I'm the world's best actor", though, and we hear Angel's voice softly but menacingly say "Second best", I freaked out. I was like "HELL NO!!! NO WAY! YESSSSSS!" LOL I couldn't believe they fooled me so well with that episode.
 
I had no clue what was happening. I was yelling the whole time when the guy was doing his "light show". And actually, I don't know if I missed that ep the first time I watched the series or what, but on this last rewatch, I totally didn't remember any of it. I was devastated for Buffy. And I had a fist pump moment: "Psyche." Heehee.
 
I hadn't seen season 2 yet so I really didn't care...it was odd. I don't even remember being that shocked when I saw it. I was seriously an emotionless freak as a child haha now I would have screamed and rolled my eyes and eaten an entire bowl of Doritos.

Then again, I do that when...well all the time.

Oh, yes I didn't have any clue what was going on. I felt so sorry for Buffy! Even when Angel told Faith that she is just the second-best-actress I didn't understood! I was so relieved that it was just a trick.
 
This is exactly why it's my favourite episode it's gotta bit of everything in it. When I first watched it my reaction was kind of Angel and Faith? I could live with that for definite but I couldn't see that Buffy would allow herself to get done over so easily. I freaked out big time when I realised that Buffy and Angel had planned it together it was just brilliant 🙂 I also thought the ending about Giles' involvement was a great touch too. I think that's when I started giving Giles a lot of credibility in his role as Buffy's watcher. Absolutely immense episode 😀

I loved that moment as well. Also loved it was Buffy, Giles and Angel who set this up with the rest clueless. Their WTF reaction later was funny 😀

I was super excited! I wasn't thrilled about having more drama for Buffy and Angel (I just wanted them to be happy), but I was hoping that Giles would find out! I was actually kind of disapointed that we didn't get a scene in which Giles could confront Angelus. I think that it would have helped him get over what Angelus had done to him.
 
Loved this episode! My initial reaction was "NOOOOOOO!!! NOT AGAIN!" And then when Angel said, "Second best," I grinned.

Also, one of my favorite BAngel moments was in this episode. At the very end, when she said she needed some time to process things, and as she's walking out, he went, "You still my girl?"

However, I have a question about all of this. How did they know that the mayor was looking to find a way to take Angel's soul again?
 
I totally fell for it! I breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when angel says "second best" actor - to faith. I was really sad and scared and worried up till then.
 
I was reserving judgement. On one hand, I love Angelus. On the other, using the storyline again so soon seemed tired. Oddly enough, I didn't even realize the implications when he said 'second best'...
 
LOVE that episode. One of the best in my opinion. I knew he hadnt turned! (I think! It was along time ago now!!!)
 
I was shocked. I completely bought that Angelus was back. I think it was the best twist ever. Watching it again when I know its all a trick puts a different spin on some scenes; like when Angel is in Buffy's bedroom and takes the bag of weapons off Buffy. I first thought its just Angelus making sure she doesnt have weapons but knowing it was Angel means its just him being a gentleman 🙂
 
I was worried Angel was going to be killed by Buffy and leave the show.

I was also a little bugged because it would have just been a season 2 repeat if he was Angelus.
 
I bought it, and didn't know what the heck the writers were up to. I will also note, that when he said "Second best" to Faith, I didn't quite catch that he was implying that it was Angel acting as Angelus the whole time, I just thought that it was Angelus being full of himself and thinking hes good at acting for no reason, haha.
 
I was totally shocked. As soon as Angel said "Second best" I understood what he meant, and I knew that sh*t was going down. 😛
