If you were on Jeff Bezos' ship, you were on a space cruise, so that exists now, but it is a really expensive proposition. There was a petition to not let him come back to earth during his time up there.
What would be interesting would be a DNA reader that would show successive images of what you would look like at every stage of your life. You could see what the person would look like at every stage so you would get a view from infancy to old age, but the view might cut off suddenly due to genetic defects that cause death. You could make a good future CSI television show with this, and the scientists would say things like, "Oh, wasn't he a cute baby and there he is... oh this is not going well at all... how did such a cute baby turn into that?" Other conversations would be, "What a funny-looking baby... she still looks like that at age five and scrawny, too... oh wait a minute - she's filling out nicely... hot damn, she's a supermodel!"

What about my me?
I'd like for robotics to be developed so we can have units to perform hard and/or hazardous jobs that no human wants to or should do. Also, as our population ages, it would be great to have robots who can care for the elderly and be companions to them. (Not to mention the current shortage of child-care workers!)

Doubtful that any realistic space cruise (anything that's accessible to anyone other that multi-millionaires) will occur in my lifetime (so the next 40+ years). And part of that is that space travel just isn't advancing at the rate we originally thought.
Look at science fiction written before the 80s. Star Trek, Lost in Space, 2001, Heinlein, Harrison, etc. Pretty much all of it had us well off earth by now. At a minimum we were colonizing other planets/moons in the system, and plenty of it had us going to other star systems.
Look at Star Trek. Khan Noonien Singh was a genetically enhanced human (something we can't do at that level now) who was able to flee earth in a sleeper ship (something we can't do now). And he did this in 1996 (26 years ago).
The Martian Chronicles have us terraforming Mars (with various degrees of success/failure) in the 90s/00s.
2001: We have bases on the moon and can send manned missions to Jupiter.
Pretty much any space movie from the 50s and 60s is taking place around the turn of the century.
So I suspect that it will be quite a while before we see anything substantial.

I've always been interested in time travel. Honestly, I want to travel to the past. If I could meet Albert Einstein, Isadora Duncan, Claude Monet, and Stephen Hawking I'd be floored. Absolutely THRILLED. I could also visit my parents before their divorce, and give them advice.

Yes Robot doctors is a great idea! No pre programmed bias for once lol. Also would be a good idea for first responders to accidents and disasters, saving a second lot of traumatised people.
I rekon robot childcare workers IS a good idea too but imagine the outcry from parents! No facial expressions! Speech delay! Honestly every friend I have with a kid under 5 wishes they could stay home with them anyway. So, big yes to more robot workers in general š
Knowing my luck, I'll still be around by then haha. Yeah, its the tacky cruise ship of the sea in space that I'd be looking for. I'd go on one on earth, but I get super sea sick š¤¢ you're right too about us being so far behind what was imagined. We cant even build air tight houses in Australia yet let alone space lol.
I've seen pictures of a few biodomes in the US, but none seem all that flash. Someone should build one out in the desert here. Away from the nuclear bomb sites and mines of course, but if we wana live on mars, there aren't many better places to figure out a kind of terraforming and oxygen farm on!

I'm sure there would be many downsides, but as plusses, they would never lose their temper with the children, and no having to worry about abuse, beyond the occasional electric shock from touching them after walking on carpet. š Of course, kids always being the first to master new technology, they would probably be mischievously reprogramming the robots in no time!

I'd be more worried about hackers. Plenty crack baby monitors and the like to give verbal abuse to baby or parents. For some reason everyone always acts so surprised, not sure why.
If they weren't wireless with "automatic updates" then I would be interested in a price comparison, since the electronics industry is especially bad for gouging people. It would have to be more than just the basic device and daycare rates to find the true comparison.
Though if they can't be accessed by computer (which would severely limit parents being able to use them as personal monitors), then probably safer than human sitters. But from time to time a cosmic ray gets through that cause major glitches...cars with computer chips can speed up without the ability to brake (even with the driver trying--and computerized cars can also be hacked), planes can dive suddenly, voting machines can add thousands of non-existential votes, and more. They're so sensitive, it's ridiculous, and great care has to be used with such hardware. And the Earth's magnetic field is shifting making the problem of solar storms and cosmic rays more likely and significant. But still, I expect it's as likely as an unexpected earthquake, and safer than people (including relatives, including the parents themselves), statistically speaking.
I do think they've been used with great success in caring for the elderly in Japan, but it's hard to say when their culture strongly discourages public complaints (though Japan is doing something right when their 5-year-olds can be expected to get themselves to school responsibly and safely using public transportation with the adults rather than school busses, beat that Western Civilization). But if that works, I'm sure it can with children as well.

Nah robots dont have to be aware of what they are. Not like Humans or Better than Us tv shows. The ones in human form are creepy AF. I look at the farms around us and the tractors and trains are so high tech now, the workers just sit in the cabin and do repairs. All they need is a robot fire extinguisher now and farm workers would almost be out of a job all together. Yay for less human exploitation!

I just saw an article in the newspaper about a space port for the coast... Thats a dumb place for it, they should put it out here! People on the coast complain about the windfarm they sure as heck will complain about a spaceport! Yes maybe instead of going on a space cruise, I can work at the space port š

Robots are the third industrial revolution. It's a paradigm shift of the highest order, and Science Fiction writers, well, they tend not to be economists.
I'm disinclined to believe machines would go the terminator route. Humans are agressive because humans are the product of natural selection that rewards cruelty with power. Machine intelligence may not have that parent program.
