Do you think Willow behaved immaturely when she found Xander and Cordelia making out in the library? Or was her reaction natural? I'm not a Xander fan AT ALL, but Willow had plenty of chances to ask Xander out before "Bad Eggs" etc but she was so shy and nervous to do anything.

When she said "What's Xander's number, oh 1 800 I'm dating a skanky Ho." calling Cordelia a Ho was uncalled for imo. It's not Cordy's fault that she got to Xander first before you Willow. I hated Will so much in the early seasons.

I love Xander with Cordelia
No I don't hated her. I felt sorry fer her. She was shy and unpracticed in such things. I think she didn't even known about her inner feelings. That's why she reacted to hatefull. And I could understand her. Cordi bullet her more than once and then her old kindergarten-friend Xander decide to spent time with her instead of Willow. That must have been very hard for her.

I don't think it was so much the fact that Cordy 'got' Xander first as it was the whole "it means you'd rather be with someone you hate than be with me" thing. Since she spent years with Xander being the victims of Cordy and her gang, and then suddenly the guy she likes is dating her... I think she had a right to react like that. It would be a bit of a shock and hard to get straight in her head!

Um you are wrong
I agree the jealousy was unwarranted if it were purely based on the fact that Xander got with Cordy and not her, but I think it was also partially because Cordy really was a horrible person to Willow.

Of course, she behaved immaturely. She was a teenager! She had yet to mature! And let's keep things in perspective. She had one big emotional outburst that Xander pretty much made her have right there. (Recall that her instinct on seeing Xander and Cordelia macking was to run away and nurse her wounds privately but Xander stopped her to talk while Willow was still raw and in the moment.) And then Willow made one dig at Cordelia with Buffy. Then right afterward in Phases, Cordelia and Willow actually figured out a way to bond.

No one was hurt from what Willow said. Xander, to his credit, really got why Willow was so upset and and had to yell about it. He understood why Willow disliked Cordelia so much- he was there. Heck just a few hours before Willow's outburst, Xander was joking that Cordelia must be the creature of pure evil that can touch the Judge and a few hours before that, Cordelia was ranting about how she couldn't have Xander as her public boyfriend. (Which Cordelia would later come to understand is incredibly mean when that guy in The Wish said the same thing that he wouldn't have Cordelia as his public girlfriend but that she's welcome to have sex with him in private.) Plus, Xander is no stranger to emotional outbursts when feeling spurned or humiliated or lied to and one of Xander's strengths, is that he's very self-aware and tries not to judge people for what he sees as his faults.

awesome points! and I love the cordy/willow scene in the bronze!
While immature, I thought it was very understandable. It was more about who Xander was kissing than Xander kissing another girl. Cordelia used to be very mean to Xander and Willow and they hated her, so it was a shock to see him kissing someone they hate.

I agree with Bexieh.
I actually even was on Willows side, since I kind of shared their (or more like Willow's) Cordelia hate.
And I think it was even harder for Willow to find out the truth by walking in on Xander and Cordy kissing.
It would have been better for everybody if Xander just had told Willow how things were.

As much as I love Cordelia, I think Willow's reaction was more than understandable. She had been in love with Xander for quite a time, and Xander was pretty aware of it but never saw Willow as anything else than his best friend. And Willow already had to put up with Xander drooling all over Buffy and trying to use Willow as a plan B when Buffy refused to go out with him. Then he's with Cordy. I think Willow says it all when she says "You'd rather be with someone you hate than being with me". That's why she really was so upset about the situation because she felt like Xander didn't even want to give it a try, that he prefers to be with anyone but Willow. Anyone including the girl who has been bullying the both of them for a long time. So yeah, Willow was hurt. It wasn't because Cordy got Xander before Willow, it's because Xander choose Cordelia.

I think I'd be pretty upset too if my best friend knew I was in love with him and started dating our 'enemy' instead of me. I think Willow would have been less upset if it had been anybody else than Cordelia.

Yup. We actually saw the difference when Willow thought she was losing Xander to newcomer but seemingly nice Ampata where Willow *literally* set up their first date.

I actually agreed with Willows reaction, in school this one lad in my year and he's sister made school hell for me they wouldn't stop picking on me, calling me names and spreading rumours they actually made me want to skip school and last month one of my best mates was talking about her ex who she loved and when I asked which one? she told me and I couldn't be who she said it was! It was the same lad who made school hell for me, she knew this and we been friends since 8 years and she went oh yeah he did do all those things to you, it hurt me pretty bad.

Willow got bullied so much from Cordy and her friends, the only thing Willow loved about school was studying and of course her best friends which she was in love with, which is Xander, Willow and Xander stuck together against her and even made fun of her, Willow felt betrayed from her best friend. First Cordy starts hanging with them and then her best friend dates her. She felt so much pain and that's comment she made was the first thing that came out of mouth, she also properly felt worried about Xander too cause Cordy dates everyone and thought Xander might get hurt. But later Willow and Cordy become good friends till what happened in 'Lover's Walk' but overall I can agree with what Willow said but it can be hurtful too.
