When you die where are you bound for?

If I was to try and answer in a none self serving way I would like to think that I would end up in Heaven, although on the flip side to that most of my kind deeds are towards Animals and wildlife etc rather than people, bit like being the Angel of the animal world haha.
I'm not sure to be honest, I've always believed that there is something else after death but never really been sure what. I try to keep an open mind to many things.
I will always remember that once when I was in middle school, so going back a very long time here haha, my geography teacher at the time I think he was, he had been in an accident some time before, ended up in critical condition and flat lined en route to the hospital, and he was adamant that he can clearly remember seeing his mother and father there, said it was quiet, peaceful, and he asked what he was doing there, and they merely said "nice to see you again,son, but it's not your time", and with that he woke up a few hours later in the hospital. I think if anything, I took from that, that maybe death is as much as you make life to be. Maybe that's what it's all about? If you think there's nothing there, then there isn't, if you believe there is, then it's what you make of it.
