Where are you from?

i live in naples florida.............hmmmm boring of course....either we always have hotness....and then it switches on and off with thunderstorms.....and those have been pretty freaky lately.....most lightning ive ever seen here......hittin everything!....usually in the 90's feelin like 100....it sucks...i wish i was back in maryland......

Actually, closer to Toledo, can't remember the exact name of the city. Anyway, I have family in Toledo, Swanton, and Pen-something or other lol!
 
I live in England..near Blackpool. Everyone in England has heard of Blackpool but people else where might not have 😀
 
Wow, lots of people from London. I like that. I wanna go there someday. But I want to go EVERYWHERE!!! I'm from Arizona. It's too d@mn hot here.

I'm from Sydney, Australia but currently call London home.

I do love London and will be here for awhile longer, but i will move back to Sydney one day............maybe when i'm 30 or something and when i'm ready to actually start having an adult life, get a house, settle down, get a dog etc.
 
Staffordshire in the UK. Smallish town called Tamworth which is not to far from Birmingham. For any of the Yukkers that live nearby, it's where Drayton Manor Park is - a smaller rip-off of Alton Towers. 😉 Oh, and it's also where Sir Robert Peel came from who invented our modern Police Force I believe. 🙂

Robert Peel, (1788-1850) represented Tamworth in Staffordshire for eighteen years - during which time he became famous as the inventor of the modern police service.

As Home Secretary he first tackled the organisation of London's weak police-force (known as Bow Street Runners). These men were thief-takers, and supplemented the activities of night watchmen who were made up of old men and were of no deterrence to agressive criminals.

Peel put his new force of young men into a dark uniform, and they soon became known as 'Peelers' or 'Bobbies'.

Despite a great resistance at first to what was perceived as a breach or interference of civil rights, Peel's bobbies soon became a common and respected sight in London and paved the way for the popular form of policing by consent throughout Great Britain - and also throughout the emerging 'civilised' world.

It is a fact that all western democracies are today based upon Robert Peel's 'Metro-politan Police Porce' which was instituted in 1829.

Also, for any Yukkers that watch Most Haunted on Living TV, they have actually recently filmed in Tamworth Castle for their new series of Most Haunted.
 
lol, cordelia. Drayton Manor Park... ive always wanted to go to Alton towers. but its to far. id have to stay at the hotel. me being a student + poor = no alton towers sadly. an most haunted creeps me out... im there with a cusion trying not to look yet i cant seem to tear my eyes away from the screen.
 
i know this thread is sorta old, but i'm gonna write a post anyways!! 🙂

I'm from Norway, from the 6th biggest town in norway called FREDRIKSTAD.... there are 70 000 people living there(which says alot about norway)

now i live in the capital, i atend the University here in Oslo... here there lives about 500 000 people... in Norway total there lives about 4,5 mill people... Los Angels have over twice that...(i think.. LOL)

and contra popular belifes we don't have polarbears and penguins walking around in the streets, but we do have land and places conected to norway that do, like queen Mauds land, and probably Svalberg... the coolest name for a city in norway.. is "longyear-byen" byen means town.

and we have the longest costline in the world!!
 
lol...if there were some coral reefs...that would make some good shore breaks...but by the time you catch your first wave...probably half dead from hypothermia...the water must be like liquid nitrogen up there...lol
 
I'm from St Helens, which is near Liverpool in the UK. The only claim to fame that St Helens has is that we've got a really good Rugby League team!!!

i don't know if you were talking about Norway, but i'll take taht chance!! LOL

the water is fine from may til august.. well okay end of may... my boyfriend and his best friend are crazy!! they take there first bath in the end of mars, beginning of april... crazy people...

when i think of it, it's pertty cold, unless the sun's been up everyday for a couple of weeks...

i hate the winter! last year the leafs startes to fall of the trees and the first snow came, in the same day.. BAD BAD! and it was the coldest winter in years... and i live in the east part of norway, and that's on the bottom🙂 we had 20 c, minus... BAd
