Hi, all.

I have a question about a specific screen shot and I wasn't sure where to post it, so I figured we could use a WCIF thread.

So here it is:

I would like to use a specific Spike screen cap in a piece of art, but I can't remember from which episode this shot originates. It's a visually striking moment in which Spike is sort of in the lower right side of the screen. He is looking left and slightly upwards into a nice golden light. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I cannot for the life of me remember the episode.

Thanks in advance!

Ooh, I've been looking for this shot for such a long time!
My immediate thought was the end of After Life, but looking at the caps I don't think that's what you're after. Can you remember if it was Buffy or Angel? Good or evil? Old or young?

You know, I really don't remember. Grr! Arg! it's so frustrating. I remember running into it recently while I was looking for something else and thinking it was odd because it wasn't really in a Spike centric episode. Based on Marsters' appearance and haircut I also think it was on Buffy sometime after season 3 and before they started their affair and *definitely* before the crazy hair of season 7. I'm not sure about that, though.

^ No. Unfortunately, it's not. Thanks for trying, though!

If it helps to narrow things down, I think I stumbled upon it by accident once while I was looking for a cute Xander and Anya moment.

Or we could compel people to take part in this and just allot one episode to everyone on screencap paradise and see how far we come 😀

My best guess was Angel s5, 'Soul Purpose', whre there is Spike, golden light, BUT he is looking to the right. Well, plus, apparently from you description As5 is already out...

^ Well, so far, I've checked season 4 up to "Goodbye Iowa." I'm checking that one now. If anyone would be willing to start with season 5 or 6, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just in case, I went and checked Soul Purpose. Alas, that isn't it.

Hmm, do you remember anything else about the scene hun? The general background (indoors, outdoors, night, day, particular place?), if there was anyone else in the shot, expression on his face? It might help narrow it down a bit

*wracks brain to try and think of what it could be*

I think it was inside and that Spike was seated. Also, it was dark and kind of a tight shot, so there weren't a whole lot of background things going on. If I remember right, Spike was the only person in the shot.

EDIT: Also, it's not in season 4. I just finished checking that one.

I'm almost 100% sure this is the shot:

I found it on a Youtube video after what seemed like hours of searching through various Spuffy fanvids. I've been trying to find the episode it's from for a while, too...hopefully someone can find it based on that!

That's it! That's it!
^ Yup! That's the one. Thanks for helping in the search. I still want to see if I can get a nice, clean screen cap out of it, but if I can't, that YouTube shot will work just fine. Thanks!

Now that we have the shot, does anyone know the name of the episode in which that shot appears? It's just a fantastic shot. Sidebar: while looking, I noticed a lot of other great lighting shots, too. I mean, have you guys noticed how fantablous the lighting on this show is? It's to die for.

^ Wow. I was WAY off. I would never have found that without your help, guys! Thanks!

I'd karma you again, Crazy Flakes, but the board won't let me karma you twice in a row. :-(

Thanks again, guys. I'll show you the art after Christmas. It's a Raiden thing (hint hint). Feel free to post your own questions here, too. I'm more than happy to lend a hand in finding stuff.

It appears as though I am also more than happy to lend a hand in asking more questions.

Ever since I first began making fanart, I've wondered how people make such awesome textures. It seems that everyone just downloads them from everyone else, but the images must come from somewhere, right? I've made a few rudimentary textures for my own pieces, but they're pretty basic. Does anyone know where I can find a detailed tut for making polished-looking textures, especially with GIMP?
