Where Did Connor Come From?

This may have been discussed somewhere before, but I missed it.

We have an explanation about where Dawn came from and pretty much why she was here, but , to my knowledge, there was never any attempt to explain just how or why two supposedly infertile vampires could have a child, much less a human one with superhuman powers.

Would anyone care to venture a guess?

The only thing I can come up with is that maybe that was supposed to be a storyline that either never developed, or was planned to be exlained atsome later date, but time just ran out, as in the series cancellation, before it could happen.

where did connor come from.. my first thoughts.. well first of all Angel and Darla got it on. she fell pregnant. killed herself because she couldnt give birth.. .. and then there was a baby.. ..

Angel won the right to give Darla back her life, but because she was already living her second chance, she couldn't be made whole again. But Angel still won the right the trail, so whoever it was decided that he still deserved the life he had won, so they gave it to him in the form of Connor.

Exactly. It's pretty much explained by Skip in Season 4's "Inside Out" and the next episode, Jasmine explains it to the gang.

I think Wesley says "an impossible birth to make one possible".

Yeah Jasmine explains it. I also love 'The Trial', makes sense that a life between them would come of it. Although I really don't think the writers thought about it at the time, seemed like it was just a 'I know lets have Darla pregnant!' 😛

again jasmine pretty much says why, but i also believe that if Darla waited any longer then Connor would have died. so she did it at just the right minute

That was the role that Jasmine had Lorne play in her cosmic rebirth plan. Lorne told Angel of the Trial and thus set it up that Darla would be in a position to be able to "give birth" to Connor, in turn leadin to her own rebirth.

was Jasmine actually responsible for Connor's birth, or did she just take advantage of the situation? Did she know that Angel would win his son's life in the trial, or did she rig it?

in my opinion, she rigged it. i think that it was made pretty clear that a lot of planning had to go into making that happen. all of the gangs' decisions back before connor's birth had to be influenced. if that is true, someone must've been doing something to influence it that way. that was probably jasmine, as it was her goal that was achieved, and we never saw anyone else who couldve been doing it, other than possibly someone helping her. if we did, well, i cant think of them, and this is still my opinion :silly:.

Speaking of Jasmine...was she planned for season four from the start? Was she not the "change" made to season four due to Charisma's pregnancy?

And Lyri...that's been my theory for a while too and after I rewatched the episode last month where Skip explains it I was assuming I was correct...and now I know I (we) am (are). Cool.

Randy, i don't think Jasmine was planned from the start. as far as i know, Cordelia was supposed to be the Big Bad for the season, but because of her prengnacy, she couldn't do many of the stunts...and it's hard to hide a baby bump. i'm guessing, it's hard, anyway! 😛
