"Where Did Joss Get That Idea?"

I know that Joss has said in several occasions that he does surf the Buffy sites, and he's mentioned reading fan fiction on occasion. Do you ever wonder if some of the ideas that he gets might be, either consciously or unconsciously, taken from some story or suggestion that he might have read somewhere else?

I wouldn't be surprised if reading some of the fan's ideas, critiques, fanfics and what not have influenced him. I'm sure in reading through all the stuff it has brought certain issues to light and made him think of things from a different perspective. Personally, I don't think it would surprising if it gave him some new ideas. I don't think he would completely rip off someone else's idea, but he might take it and turn it into something of his own.

That being said I'm sure there is plenty of stuff he has read on the internet that is so bad and so far from what he envisioned for the buffyverse that it has made him laugh/roll his eyes.
