I'm considering buying the comics for s8 but where so I start?

How many are there?

Where do I buy them?

How much should I be looking at spending?

Is it worth it?

There are 40 issues, and that doesn't include the one-shots.

There are a variety of ways you could buy the issues. Your local comic book store probobly stocks back issues, but thed be more expensive. There's Amazon and Ebay. You can start collecting the individual issues that way. Or you can buy the trade paperbacks.

Is it worth it? I think so. They're canon. It would be like not owning an entire televised season.

The trade paperbacks are probably the cheapest way to get them, specially if they're used. They're sold in lots on ebay from time to time.

Vol 1 The Long Way Home
Vol 2 No Future for You
Vol 3 Wolves at the Gate
Vol 4 Time of Your Life
vol 5 Predators & Prey
Vol 6 Retreat
Vol 7 Twilight
Vol 8 Last Gleaming

We might get these collected in big hardcover volumes one day, but so far, only the long way home has been collected in hardcover.

So are the 40 issues in all of those 8 volumes?? :S

It would seem alot quicker and easier to get the volumes huh?? 🙂

Can I ask what a one-shot is please??? lol

If it said that, it's wrong., it covers issue 1-5. Some of the later TPBs also have one shots included.

Btw, it's been confirmed by a season 8 artist (probably not suppose to be public info yet) that there will be 4 hardcovers, so about 10 issues each. I assume those will have the one shots as well. But we don't know when they'll be released or how much they'll cost. Probably be best to buy the TPBs.

A one shot is a one off story based on a specific character. Willow, Riley and Harmony all have one its just another issue of comic used to create background info for the continuing arcs. Or at least thats how i'd explain it, I could be wrong.

nor did I until I started collecting, I had a lot of help off here though. You'll get your head around it eventually 😀

Thanks for your help, things are alot clearer then they were before!! lol 😀

thats ok :) hope you enjoy them once you get them
Wikipedia has a great summary of the individual issues & one-shots, and the trade paperback collections: [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer_Season_Eight"]Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

I found the best prices on Amazon- there's lots of used (in great condition) copies. What I did was do my internet searching via Swagbucks (check it out here: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Stephs9), where you collect points- when I had 450 points I could get a $5 Amazon gift card. I found a lot of the TPBs for $10 with free shipping, so I essentially bought my entire collection for $40.

I also always advocate for public libraries- that's how I started my reading before I knew I wanted to purchase. Right now I'm reading the IDW Angel comics via my public library.

It's Swagbucks, and no, no catch. The search engine isn't as good as Google IMO, but if I'm just looking up random stuff (like I used it to look up that season 8 Wikipedia link), it's fine. If I can't find something I just switch to Google. You don't earn points for every search, it's random. There are lots more ways to earn points (including buying products), and some people get really into it and earn a lot of points (& there are all kinds of things to redeem your points for), but I just mainly use the search and maybe an occasional survey or something like that. I can't use it at work though, my filter blocks it. 🙁
