Where do you live?

I'm from North Carolina. I'm somewhere between Fayetteville and Wilmington. (The two closest major cities to me) I live in the country area and it's just not for me. Not a huge fan of the majority of the people near me, I hate the weather, the wildlife. (ie: snakes. I freakin hate snakes.)

I will say that there are some nice places in NC (such as the mountains, love the NC mountains) but overall, I hate living here. After doing a good amount of travelling around the east coast during childhood and even more travelling recently, I've found myself to be much more of a city girl. None of the cities in NC appeal to me though, so I'd like to move further north. Just trying to figure out where to go at the moment. 🙂
 
Since a year back I live in Gothenburg, which is the second largest city in Sweden with about 550 000 inhabitants. The city lies by the sea Göta à„lv, so it's lots of water, which affects the climate, but I haven't really noticed the ice cold winds that people warned me about 😉. I think it's mostly average swedish temperature here, maybe 20 celsius in the summer. It's also the home of a lots of students, we have both a "regular" university (which I attend) and a technology university here, so I think that makes it a city with a lot of youth culture, like in the summer we have several music festivals. This year Kanye West, Prince and fleet foxes are coming to the way out west festival for example 🙂 We also have a big film festival and starting last year we have a film festival that focuses on feminist films only. There's also lots of garden areas in the city, lots of parks to hang out in. Oh, and of course the big amusement park Liseberg with crazy rollercoasters and big stuffed bunnies. 🙂

I grew up in the country, in a very, very small town where maybe 1000 people and cows lived, and I probably want to live in a similiar (NOT the same) place later in life too, but right now I love Gothenburg so much. As the "city-city" itself is pretty small and it's mostly urban areas you can get both that big city feeling and still have a place to live that's fairly calm and like a own little town in the city. Also, we have TRAMS! How could you not love that. :heart:

I remember hearing the Swedish pronunciation of Gothenburg once- took me a while to realise which city was being talked about!
I live in Birmingham, England. It's the second city and is in the middle of the country.

I quite like my city, it's big enough that there's plenty to do but not so big you feel suffocated (like I've felt whenever visiting London). The Bull Ring shopping centre is a big plus.

I just wish it were closer to the coast.

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Well okay technically I live about seven miles out of it, but it's still that area, I just don't live in the town itself. I don't really like town living. All you people who said you'd wanna live in London...I've stayed there on weekends but that was far enough for me. Sirens, noise, blaaaah. It's a nice place but just not my pace of living. Anyway I'm like at the opposite end of the country to it 😛 I don't think I could live in Newcastle either. Too noisy. It's just about right where I am. Not too far out and not right in the hustle and bustle. (That being said, one day I would LOVE to live like right out in the country in the middle of nowhere.)

Anyway, we're up in the North East of England. I think it might be about 60 miles from the Scottish boarder? Something like that. It's a pretty decent place, and if anyones watched Geordie Shore...don't believe it's all like that. There's plenty to do and it's about 20mins in the car or a half hour bus ride into town from where I live. If it's hot we can go to the beach. Bit further but still close enough. I like it!

The village I live in itself is a little boring though. Not much goes on.

I live in Herefordshire, in the middle of England and on the boarder of Wales. It's the home of Hereford beef and Bulmer's cider. About 50 miles from Birmingham and the great Bull Ring!
 
Sydney, Australia. Not in the actual city, but not too far from it. 'Bout an hour's drive. Probably less. Oh, and I live near the beach. Although that doesn't excite me all that much, 'cause I hate going to beach and getting sandy, but...Some people would be happy about it.
 
I live Melbourne, Australia. I'm not in the city or any of the inner suburbs, but in an outer suburb just before it becomes slightly rural.
 
I live in Bristol which I love. It's both urban and rural as there are trees everywhere but you're also not stuck in the middle of nowhere either. We have a great music scene too which is cool. I also live in London for half of the year as I study there at university. I prefer Bristol as it's home but there's something quite exciting about living in the capital.
 
I live in a blink and you missed it village in Surrey UK. I like it as its peaceful and friendly. The only thing I don't like is no takeaways deliver here lol.
 
I live in Quincy, Massachusetts. Boston is right across the harbor. Don't go there too much though.

Not much to do here, it's pretty boring. In the summer my friends and I have fireworks, so I suppose that excites things a bit. There are beaches here, but I hate saltwater.

It gets hot in the summer. Hot for us anyways. 90's(32 C.) are the usual, 80's(26 C.) are warm, 100's(37 C.) are way too hot. It gets cold as well. 20's(-6 C.) are usual for winter, 40's(4 C.) or 50's(10 C.) are warm, anything below 0 with a windshield is awful. (Hope that helped Celsius people!)

Luckily!! I can reside to my house in Plymouth, New Hampshire in the summer.
 
We just moved last month out of the city (yay!) And into the country. And I mean COUNTRY! Closest paved road is a mile up the road, closest grocery store is 10 miles away. We are still only 15 miles out of the city, so it's not too bad. I live in Oklahoma which, besides some very narrow minded people, is one of the best places ever. All my family is here, and it is such a friendly and beautiful place to live. The only other negative is OKC itself is so sprawled out and the public transportation is horrible, so you have to have a car to live. It's nearly impossible to get around otherwise.
 
I live in Brighton, on the south coast of England. I love it here, there is the perfect balance of city and country and the people are diverse and interesting. My only grievance is that we get so many tourists this time of year, that I have to queue forever in Starbucks. 🙂
 
I live in Osijek, Croatia. It's the biggest city in Slavonija, part of the eastern Croatia. Winters are sometimes too cold, but we had snow every year since I was born. Summers can be too hot, but mostly, we have breeze. The town is crowdy, but not too crowdy. People are nice and friendly.

You may have seen me if you've been by recently, I'm often working in the BR, behind glass. We always get people peering in, lol.
 
I live in a small town about ten miles outside of Leeds in Yorkshire, England- for anybody who ever sees Emmerdale, a lot of the landscapes in the opening credits are within a few miles of here. Leeds as a city is good overall- the centre is about half an hour's walk from end to end in any direction and there are some good museums and parks.

The town where I live is on the edge of the country, though, so there's a lot of small shops and farming shows in the summer. We have the oldest continously running agricultural show in England every May, which is always interesting, as well as a good real ale/food culture.
 
I live in Szczecin (try to say that, haha😀), Poland. I used to live for two years in Manchester, England. I came back to country in February.

Szczecin is on North-West part of Poland. It's 50 miles to Baltic Sea and something like 70 miles to Berlin, Germany. I like to live here, I think it's the best city in my country (although I can't be objective at all, haha). We've got hot summers (but now it's hard to say that) and really cold winters. But I'm on that part of Poland where there's no floods, hurricanes and others.

I live in Glasgow, the biggest city in Scotland. It has a pretty rough reputation if you know anything about Glasgow, but I've lived here all my life, so I tend not to notice. I love it in general though, it has everything I need. And has the best shopping outside of London, apparently.
 
Im from Newcastle upon Tyne in England but moved to Middlesbrough (which isn't too far away) for Uni and i still live there now.
