Where is the worst place to put a toilet ?

(this is a serious question)

Anywhere food is being handled. Just seems like a recipe for disaster! 😄

Jokes aside, my family has passed around horror stories about going to churches where they'd be afraid to use the bathroom because it was directly beside or behind the main platform, so everyone (including the singers/speakers) would notice if you got up and used it!

in the foyer or by the front door ranks pretty high.

I've actually seen several houses with 1/2 baths (toilet and sink) in the kitchen... depending on the arrangement it actually feels logical... just as long as it doesn't open so that the first thing you see is the toilet... the logic for this arrangement I think is the fact that for a lot of places, the plumbing can be adjoining and it's easier and cheaper to put all the plumbing together or nearby.

A lot of the 19th century houses around here, and some of the early 20th, have a bathroom/kitchen extension at the back of the house.

I think IN the kitchen would be horrid... opening off the kitchen is actually common. A toilet next to the stove... that would be different.

Of course, in days before there was 'indoor' plumbing, many people bathed in bath tubs in the kitchen, probably because it was an open space that could tolerate more water than the rest of the house. A lot of houses were not a lot more than one covered space where people did almost everything. The concept of bedrooms and purpose built rooms for most people is a relatively modern one.

but not the answer tee hee

The answer being it is .. .. .. two yards/ or two meters further away than you hoped (prayed) it would be.

I never even considered that, and it makes sense from a plumbing aspect. Still would be a firm nope from me.
