ILLYRIAN
Druish Pervonian Wizard
Modesty did permit me to test the like/ dislike of this story that first appeared back in 2007 in the Watchers Diary,
back then it had some 6,000 views, though I doubt that will happen this time though, I dare say I'd be lucky to get 900 views,
I would be happy with that though, heck I'd be happy knowing that 100 members had gained some enjoyment.
So, here we are . . . . . I altered the name of this work to be this . . . .
Where The Pretty Young Maiden's Dared
Gareth, Willow, Modesty, Buffy and Spike fought their way into the library just as three of the demons pushed Gareth to the floor and pinned him down. Modesty saw Gareth's problem and went to his aid calling to Willow and Buffy as she wrestled two of the demons away from Gareth. Willow and Buffy fought the other demon and eventually killed it. Spike put on his demonic face and killed the two demons and changed back to his human appearance so he could pretend he did not need the vampire within him.
Gareth lay on the floor feeling the injuries that had been given to him, Dawn mystically appeared, surprised she stood by the table used for reference books. “I was enjoying a game of chess with a Cassandra when suddenly I was whisked away to be in this strange place with you guys, so how did I get here but more importantly which one of you guys brought me here?” asked Dawn.
Modesty looked to Dawn and smiled, “I am glad that you got here okay,” she said. Dawn faced Modesty, "I think I recognize you from Sunnydale but I am not sure from where." I never knew you but I often wanted to know you, and what you were." Willow went to the counter and looked at the books there, she wiped a finger along the counter. “There’s only a small amount of dust on the surface here, so who has been looking after this place?” asked Dawn.
Gareth noticed the newspaper cutting on the counter. “It says here that the owner of this hotel has just gone to a convention of holiday locations in the South of Devon I wonder what else the newspaper knows,” said Gareth. Spike was leaning against the counter when Gareth had come up from the basement, Gareth wandered to be beside him before he looked around the rest of the room.
“How is everyone else, is anyone in pain?” asked Gareth. “No one else is hurt, given what did happen I am quite surprised, I hope we can all stay this way,” said Willow.
Buffy said she would give Greaves and Giles a call to let them know about the situation. As she was about to pick up the phone a young woman walked up to her. “It says in the newspaper that your uncle used to own this place,” the young woman said to Willow.
“Yes he was a distant uncle from another side of the family. He died just after he bequeathed the place to me so I wanted to see the place before I decided what to do with it.” Gareth smiled to the young woman. “Are you intent on being a friend to us?” asked Gareth. The young woman faced Modesty who immediately declared, “It has been a long time.” “This is an old friend, Blaise used to live in the semi-detatched house in Silver Street in the village of Ipplepen, just up the road, I am glad to meet her again,” said Modesty
