The Big Burst of Poltergasm as Xander puts it 🙂

I was dreading watching this again as Buffy and Riley enter the 'Puppy with a new toy' phase of their sexuality and awaken the suppressed Frat house poltergasms, but it was actually pretty funny and creepy, too!

Spike trying to extort money from Anya is hilarious, and the back story of Anya thinking Xander is breaking up with her because they didn't have sex the night before sets up the first (?) time Spinya find they have a lot in common!

Graham gets another Best line contender: ".. and I got a 'D' in Covert Ops!"
Spike's hero speech at the frat house door is great too, plus Anya gets over her doubts and saves the day by rescuing Xander and the look on her face as she heads for the stairs is priceless 🙂

Lots of silly one-liners and a great 50s horror score made this a fun 40 minutes. 🙂

I think you must have watched some other version from me. The one I watched was painfully dull. 😛

lol - that was the one i watched the first time
I dunno, it's a strange episode. In so many ways it just didn't feel like a Buffy episode to me. I'm not sure why, it just doesn't click into place like other episodes do.

I loved the spike/Anya stuff though. And Giles goodness 🙂

I agree with Cait...this episode was totally not meant to be a real episode lol

I hated it. We could do without it 😛

I never, ever get the hate for this episode. It's HILARIOUS!

The gang seeing Giles at the Esspresso Pump? Anya calling the ghosts crybabies?? Okay, Anya was brilliant throughout the whole thing. The gang working together without Buffy and Riley and winning! Well, Xander and Anya got to play hero here and we never really get to see that. "It's true, feel shame."

Anya shines. I'm an Anya fan, maybe that's why I dig it so much but it gets way more hate than it deserves. A highlight of the season for me and I am always excited when I reach it on a rewatch.

I'd have to agree with you! There were so many great understated and hilarious moments. It was awesome to see Anya and Xander be the heroes for a change! In reality, Buffy was pretty much helpless in this episode and wouldn't have made it out alive without her firiends. Plus, any episode with a little gettin it on is alright by me! ha ha

In contrast, I could see why some people wouldn't love it. It does seem kind of like a filler episode and B doesn't really get to kick any ass......well, only in the bedroom!😱
