i don't know if i'm crazy or what, but i've had s4 on tapes for 2 and a half year now, and i haven't seen this ep before now! don't know why(prob all the sex scenes in the beginning, and i prob thaought that it was boaring, then moved on 😀) but when i saw it do thay, i liked the ep, well if you look away from all the sex scenes! just so BOARING! and so useless to the whole story line, but the rest was okay, like when anya sits and drinks with spike, then takes him to a party at rielys house, and the fight between anya and xander...

am i crazy or is the ep good, under the curomstanzes i just layed down? 🙂 (with no riely and buffy scenes!)

I love this episode. I even love the buffy riley sex scenes, they are so passionate. I think the whole episode has a great feel about it... and Giles playing guitar, does it get any better?

My fave bit is when Xander gets jelous of Spike and keeps saying "hostile 17?", the way Spike reacts to that is fantastic.

I think you are right Polexia this is a good episode (but I like the Buffy and Riley bits too.)

I dont like this episode, I think the whole main storyline just didnt come off well and the orgasming walls freaked me out a bit, it had a couple of good moments and lines but I dont think it comes up to buffys high standard

Yeah - a few great moments (already mentioned) aside, this episode is a klunker.

I think my main problem with this episode is that I was already having enough trouble trying to buy into the idea that there was an immense government labratory underneath Riley's frat house. Making it a frathouse that had a secret lab in the basement AND a history as an evil orphanage was the staw that broke the camel's back for me. I remember actually yelling, "Oh F****** C'mon!" at the TV the first time I saw this.

Among other things, why would an orphanage have been housed on a college campus?

I love this episode for one reason only: Giles+guitar=yummy

Other than that, I thought it was completely out of character and pretty darn stupid overall.

yeah the giles playing guitar was great! he has a great voice! 🙂 loved the song! i thought the orgasmic wall was funny! it's on the edge, but it was funny that they even though of that 😉

Its love this episode, I always like 'ghost' episodes, I think they suit Buffy as a show, really well...

I thought it was good! Thought it was quite funny too! The sex scenes were funny cos they just couldn't get enough! They were the power for the evil! It was really clever! 😀

its a good ep.

i dont see what people have against sex scenes, its not like people that age dont have sex and they arnt filmed like Porn!

(not that i know how porn is filmed cos im good and inocent 😉 )

I finally got to watch this epp. I like it. It was not one of my favorites, but I like it nontheless. I really enjoyed the passion displayed by Buffy and Riley. I was disappointed by the fact they such passion was induced by other forces beyond themselves. I think it would of been better if they were just that "into" each other. The orgasming walls was hilarious. I want one in my house, that's all I gotta say (sans the funky poltergeist children) I have nothing against sex, Mr. Filmmaker Faldor and I only wish there were was more in Buffy!

I also really like the character that Giles is becoming at this point. LD the whole frat house/initiative thing, I get your point. But hey, its Buffy! lol

This has never been one of my favourite episodes. It's just all a bit odd - the house ghosty-thing had been done much better (the halloween party where Giles comes to the rescue with a chainsaw), and the 'orgasm wall' was just plain stupid. And what's with all the tree roots? Didn't get that at all. It seemed to be a blatant rip off of the movie 'Poltergeist'.

I re-watched it after reading this thread, and I think the weirdest thing of all is seeing Mrs Landingham from The West Wing talking about how she tortured young children!

i think the roots was just a defence thing the spirits used as a stopper for xander and anya and to keep reily and buffy looked in... 😉

i thought this eps have some cool moments, or funny ones, exept the R and B sex stuff, just gets too much!

i watched this ep yesturday and i think its good but a little boring at times

It's interesting with all the roots growing and trees in the house and how they are attacking Xander and Anya.

There are a few funny moments, and some freaky ones too (drowning in a bathtub does not sound like fun to me)

And it was a little steamy.

Overall, it was just a Buffy episode that was in the middle. We don't want to say we hate it, but it definetly was not one of the best.

I liked that eppie! Spike and Anya was cool (At the time I thoght of potential couple, but no luck there 🙁 ) And it was funny wen Spike was like "this party's lightning up after all" and " I know I'm not the first choice for heroics ... and Buffy's tried to kill me more than once. And, I don't fancy a single one of you at all. But... (pauses) Actually, all that sounds pretty convincing."

But wqhen Xander got nearly drowned in the bath tub I was freeking out and seroiusly hyperventelating!! I hate scenes like that because that would be the worst death ever!
