Where were you on May 20, 2003?

I was at work in my wine shop till about 5, then i had a takeaway while watching the episode and cried lots thought-out the ep and after lol.

I was 12, in the fifth grade, and I watched it in my room. I remember the promos for the few weeks before "Only 3 episodes left.." with "Goodbye to You" by Michelle Branch in the background. I couldn't believe my favorite show was ending. I sat there at the end, wondering what would happen next. I saw the novel, "Chosen," which was a novelization about the entire seventh season, at the bookstore a few months later and bought it. I also remember being so excited when "Queen of the Slayers" and "Dark Congress" were published so I could get some intel on Scooby life after the show. I really do miss new episodes though. When I watch Aly in "HIMYM" or Sarah last year in "Ringer" I keep thinking "one miniseries, just one".

There's a big gap in my diary for 2003 between May 14th and June 30th, but I was living in the same place where I am now and working a difficult job in a call centre for an insurance company working odd shift patterns and Saturdays. Although one comment reminds me that it would have been two days after I'd been to London for a convention and met Michelle Trachtenberg (among others).

I honestly can't remember where I was. I know I missed the finale when it first aired (which was completely unlike me because I never missed an episode, but I think I had to go somewhere that night or something). Of course I caught the episode soon after. It was pretty bittersweet for me. On one hand, I felt it was time for the show to end. On the other, the show had been a huge part of my life from 1997-2003, so I was sad that it would be no more. I still feel the same way ten years later. I miss the show terribly. At least we're in the day and age where you can watch TV shows on DVD, Netflix, or internet. It's not like way back when you used to have to record a ton of episodes on blank VHS tapes to watch. I used to do that with Buffy until the seasons came on DVD. We will always have re-runs, and I don't think I will ever grow out of this show. I can picture myself being an old lady and still watching Buffy on a regular basis.

I have similar sentiments, you know, apart from the old lady part :p
I had just got home from work in time, and I had text my friends to watch it too on my old nokia 8210. I had been rewatching season 3 at the time but it was in black and white cos I was borrowing a mates international copy that didnt work properly on my dvd player. So I wasnt completely up to date, I had caught most of season 7 but had missed most of season 4, 5 and 6. I didnt understand why Spike was a good guy now so I wasnt too upset about his departure (Bangel at heart).

I loved it on the rewatch too a year or so later once I had seen all of the seasons. I didnt know Spike came back on Angel until I saw that later.

We caught it a little later than you folks in the new world, I think, but only by a couple of days, to weeks, late.

Vaguely remember the big build up to the finale that it was given on tv, with Sky One being the most up to date channel to catch the buffster do her thing.

I was at my original family home, with the remote control in hand, ready to watch the very last episode I'd ever see.

I took a moment, sat down, strapped myself in and then it all began...for the very last time

I was in my first year of college. Season 7 was the first season I watched as it aired. I was a very late-comer to Buffy and I think prior to watching season 7, I only had seen season 6 in re-runs. So there were a lot of episodes that I wasn't caught up on yet.

Chosen did, and still does, blow me away as probably the BEST series finale I have seen of any show mainly because of how cleanly it brings the series to a close, in a way that I am proud to watch as a fan.

Trying to avoid spoliers! Didn't get to watch it til a while later when it came on the bbc. Didn't reallt work as I was getting the buffy magazine and had been to a convention at the start of the month!

I had only been watching for season 7 because when Buffy first came out I was 10 and uninterested in such shows. But I did watch season 7 and had been filled in on the majority of the storyline by my cousin and she had every episode taped and made me watch a bunch that she said were important I don't remember which ones. I was a junior in high school when the series ended and at that point I had become a Spuffy fan which now that I watched the whole thing as an adult am even more of a spuffy fan. I remember wanting to break the T.V. when Anya died. I did cry when Buffy told Spike she loved him and his comment after (I had to turn away from my cousin haha). I loved it back then and I had already known about Spike coming back in Angel so it made me feel better about the whole thing but to me it's not the same. I love the show Angel but nothing compares to Buffy in my heart. I am sad to this day that the show is over. I would love to see a 40 something SMG still running around slaying vamps and demons.
